EDMONTON - Premier Alison Redford on Monday announced Edmonton and Calgary will get new schools, each with 750 spaces at a cost of roughly $15 million apiece.6 u# N. h* q( `7 n- }$ n
( q, w* \* t" Z3 t. Y$ oEdmonton’s school will be built in Windermere, in the sprawling southwest corner of the capital city. A Catholic school, it will be dual-track, offering classes in English and French immersion to children from kindergarten to Grade 9.4 c; |; _! E- z' o% v* f" a _
+ l* b- l; A' d/ Y8 z3 HCalgary’s school will be build in Aspen Woods, and will cater to children from kindergarten to Grade 6.. H2 k& r1 a& G. Q2 f$ ]

“We know how important it is for those 750 spaces to be ready as soon as possible, so that families can enrol their kids and they won’t need to be taking buses out to neighbouring communities,” Redford said. “It’s also to help to accommodate the incredible rapid growth in this community, in Windermere, which is experiencing great pressures on existing infrastructure.”

She said Monday she expects to announce another new school in southern Alberta on Wednesday.
