(a) drive a motor vehicle on a highway unless the motor

(b) have a motor vehicle on a highway unless the motor

8 n* \! b) q) G(i) to drive the motor vehicle on a highway, or. I8 G& i& [4 k9 U
(ii) to have the motor vehicle on a highway,( j, v+ ~4 N3 a% X. I, o
unless the motor vehicle is an insured motor vehicle;

responsibility card or a copy of it

without the expressed or implied consent of the registered owner of
$ y" K( X d4 E L ^' ethe vehicle, that person is deemed for the purposes of subsection
- O7 }& m+ k$ F9 j4 O( I8 N(1)(a) or (b) to drive or have on a highway a motor vehicle that is1 D: p" y4 ]$ S

Subsection (1)(a) and (b) do not apply to a person to whom a

Insurance Act
# G0 ?6 N7 y% i1 Y" M' F# d Sby an insurer who has issued an owner’s policy0 M) v1 J' @3 `
outside Alberta.

6 C- d2 ~. ?5 [/ d6 f; IA person, other than a corporation, who contravenes subsection0 ?% l/ o6 [: L1 t& s; ]* F k
(1) or section 52(1)(h) or 167(8) is liable,/ z. J& q' f) z1 O8 m
(a) for the first contravention, to a fine of not less than $2500
* g- f4 J' c% D5 H8 ~) cand not more than $10 000 and in default of payment to# r9 M K* s9 m0 h) z' x
imprisonment for a term of not less than 45 days and not8 c: D% ]& `7 f9 R
more than 6 months

Minimum $2500, if you don't pay, you will go to jail for a minimum of 45 days. |
