Except as otherwise permitted under this Act, a person shall% r2 U1 V6 E% s0 y* U) z3 R
not do any of the following:. W+ x+ A) n b% b0 O# q N: c: p
(a) drive a motor vehicle on a highway unless the motor& ?: g+ v: l/ d. Y. G& j
vehicle is an insured motor vehicle;
5 t1 m( g% m9 `(b) have a motor vehicle on a highway unless the motor L; Q( a3 u- X) m5 @. G9 f
vehicle is an insured motor vehicle;
7 f- |! g6 m, n0 @$ `8 k3 B(c) where a person is the registered owner of a motor vehicle,
( c& \( c# m3 W5 S$ m" qpermit another person. p" Z$ d0 g& G* A9 e$ F" I
(i) to drive the motor vehicle on a highway, or
' ?# L8 U- G5 W% h' |. K(ii) to have the motor vehicle on a highway,* W$ S5 N. s, B" |) M1 K) @) O2 g: U
unless the motor vehicle is an insured motor vehicle;. f/ E) ~8 a+ c5 ~4 F: a# |
(d) give or lend a financial
% F% t& u1 x+ Bresponsibility card or a copy of it7 T: }3 ~" a3 V4 S2 y9 z5 o
to a person not entitled to have that financial1 m4 ~) h( U; g) \6 s7 d I
responsibility card or copy.3 W9 B* \9 W$ l7 T* e7 O1 i" S

without the expressed or implied consent of the registered owner of# m) X! J: d* o7 a
the vehicle, that person is deemed for the purposes of subsection
( i( B# j2 U2 B* C C(1)(a) or (b) to drive or have on a highway a motor vehicle that is
* V2 k0 m8 a a; `( ?7 `3 {not an insured motor vehicle.

If the registration of a motor vehicle is suspended under this/ a1 o: q* R2 E. d) ^" B

Subsection (1)(a) and (b) do not apply to a person to whom a

by an insurer who has issued an owner’s policy6 b) D- j; q, e, }- H( y

(a) for the first contravention, to a fine of not less than $2500/ x5 B: { ~$ I6 l

imprisonment for a term of not less than 45 days and not

Minimum $2500, if you don't pay, you will go to jail for a minimum of 45 days. |
