(a) drive a motor vehicle on a highway unless the motor3 b7 h$ f# m2 E5 E) j! `
vehicle is an insured motor vehicle;

& f. ?. y. {! x( F7 U( _0 qvehicle is an insured motor vehicle;
. ^: m2 \' r- V& j$ c(c) where a person is the registered owner of a motor vehicle,
# V( a% P) B$ [permit another person& b( ~4 C8 c0 h! }1 D8 L
(i) to drive the motor vehicle on a highway, or
6 c6 T: m2 ?: \' h(ii) to have the motor vehicle on a highway,0 y) B. G5 Q, E3 ~1 E8 z
unless the motor vehicle is an insured motor vehicle;

8 p* w, `. }. ~, W- E( [. \& sresponsibility card or a copy of it
8 V( Y5 p- B9 y3 b$ Tto a person not entitled to have that financial3 c" `) ^6 J5 _6 U) V
responsibility card or copy.

" w9 _* o* P7 W" I( r! N. G6 wIf a person drives or has a motor vehicle on a highway: O% |6 n) P2 U d# {( x( \. ~7 c
without the expressed or implied consent of the registered owner of
; J5 {$ ]; A( g& A8 i+ {8 w# `the vehicle, that person is deemed for the purposes of subsection5 F! G0 {6 ]- R' P3 }8 N/ T
(1)(a) or (b) to drive or have on a highway a motor vehicle that is
9 v9 U! ^- b: ^not an insured motor vehicle.+ z& O; |- O! j: n9 Z

' g1 w/ O* ~- I0 e0 kSubsection (1)(a) and (b) do not apply to a person to whom a

Insurance Act N# m* z6 i- p: Y( W& I, p/ W' M" Z
by an insurer who has issued an owner’s policy
0 \, y" p7 I. S0 N3 U+ ~outside Alberta.
! E. X0 l9 y* i. ]8 k- O @(4)3 f- D* z- x* G" E) D0 k: x2 f
A person, other than a corporation, who contravenes subsection1 b5 P- N, N# {+ {* B
(1) or section 52(1)(h) or 167(8) is liable,. W$ y9 G2 `, O: U) [# o# M& u8 m8 r
(a) for the first contravention, to a fine of not less than $25007 n1 H' d% s4 _+ G* e
and not more than $10 000 and in default of payment to
$ ^& n7 g$ W/ p* Y% Z! |# t# a8 \imprisonment for a term of not less than 45 days and not g; Y% ^( n/ D/ s9 e' @
more than 6 months

Minimum $2500, if you don't pay, you will go to jail for a minimum of 45 days. |
