Except as otherwise permitted under this Act, a person shall
) t. K! D/ G% k) `( c! mnot do any of the following:
" l: S: A$ q2 H8 F3 i8 _# L9 J(a) drive a motor vehicle on a highway unless the motor0 l6 l$ q8 ?& l
vehicle is an insured motor vehicle;5 G8 l5 i/ R6 Q [5 j
(b) have a motor vehicle on a highway unless the motor
8 p$ F5 M/ n3 B! |8 r% L1 T9 ~vehicle is an insured motor vehicle;2 U6 q( l4 L g4 U5 I% v
(c) where a person is the registered owner of a motor vehicle,

(i) to drive the motor vehicle on a highway, or

unless the motor vehicle is an insured motor vehicle;

% R, U" O; U3 h: G& P4 Rresponsibility card or a copy of it
i$ x) q1 u8 b8 e0 Xto a person not entitled to have that financial

If a person drives or has a motor vehicle on a highway& ]1 x. c0 Y' W
without the expressed or implied consent of the registered owner of- U3 g- S' M7 `( J! y3 I
the vehicle, that person is deemed for the purposes of subsection
% Y7 g0 T) V! t$ V) ?( `- J(1)(a) or (b) to drive or have on a highway a motor vehicle that is

Act, the motor vehicle is still registered for the purposes of this

Insurance Act

(4). G3 I, y$ S. L8 w+ Y
A person, other than a corporation, who contravenes subsection t2 b4 [/ h4 B$ U
(1) or section 52(1)(h) or 167(8) is liable, h2 ^- V1 v; `* ^. [3 m. p, l
(a) for the first contravention, to a fine of not less than $2500* ~ a9 M6 b) }6 n0 I
and not more than $10 000 and in default of payment to
1 F* R" v9 ~( a5 _+ ximprisonment for a term of not less than 45 days and not
0 z+ U; e$ i" Wmore than 6 months

Minimum $2500, if you don't pay, you will go to jail for a minimum of 45 days. |
