Newcomers are being offered some help when shopping for a home in Edmonton’s tight housing market. * t) P. {9 i# W
Immigrant women and their families can now access a “household toolkit” crafted by a local service group for new immigrant families, through real estate agents. ; a( l3 v" M4 Y- M
7 f3 x3 c. B4 \In the tool kit are 75 common hand tools – like a hammer and screwdriver – as well a book on how to buy a home, a home maintenance schedule and other items. 2 I! E) a4 _+ @9 v! x' Q8 ]

“The tools are a symbol of hope for people trying to build new lives in Edmonton,” said Madeline Sarafinchan, president of the Edmonton Real Estate Board.
