Newcomers are being offered some help when shopping for a home in Edmonton’s tight housing market.
. s' h0 v0 |4 g3 m8 N( M( xImmigrant women and their families can now access a “household toolkit” crafted by a local service group for new immigrant families, through real estate agents. 6 f& c( }# a+ y+ l: g
# w9 e, l% v% M, |3 y" T% I1 z; X9 YIn the tool kit are 75 common hand tools – like a hammer and screwdriver – as well a book on how to buy a home, a home maintenance schedule and other items.

The program was announced by a group called Changing Together… A Centre for Immigrant Women.
