Engineering Floor vs. Hardwood Floor

Engineering Floor 上面一层是实木，但下面不是。
Hardwood Floor 整块实木。

It's Engineered wood, not Engineering.

They ain't much different from each other but I'd go with Engineered wood because it's more durable and resilient to heat and moisture. Solid hardwood gives you no competitive advantages except the rare "holy fuck it's milled from solid lumber" impression.

If you house is crappy like mine or if you're just flipping it for sale you should also consider laminate. Yes it does look cheap but 69 cents per sq ft makes Wood Jesus cry.

温度和湿度改变引起的变形方面，Engineered wood 要好不少

是否durable ，核心还是取决于硬度，也就是说价钱，和是否Engineered，关系不那么大

I will not consider laminate, only between Engineered or Hard wood floor. The builder charge $2000 more on the Engineered wood floor, this cause me think it may be better than the hard wood floor.

Ask builder about the plank width and the wood specie they're offering. It's probably some cheap softwood made out of pine.

I picked engineered wood when the builder asked my opinions, because of the same reason that other people mentioned above.

我选的工程地板因为咱这太干了，实木容易变形然后就有裂缝啦，你自己最好去卖地板的好好问问我自己选的是10块一个sqft的大概同样的实木是6块多所以加2000 我觉得很便宜了

Engineered floor is made by gluing several layers of woods. More chemical in it. Builder has option of humidity control system for wood floor new house. I prefer wood floor.

毫无疑问，工程地板由于大量树脂使用，污染肯定大，实木沒这个问题。健康角度我推荐实木。租房我从不租复合木地板。

工程地板也同样的有后期温湿度维护要求

相对后期的维护，安装前期的温湿度的预适应才相对更重要

搭车问下，不管是工程地板还是实木地板，都是需要NAIL的？还是有的可以对接或者用胶粘着的
