I am Elena Nicoladis, a researcher at the University of Alberta. With graduate student Poliana Barbosa, I
/ \ j5 w/ }; P/ }& xam conducting a study titled, “Language, Self-Recognition and Attachment Development: Possible pathways”,* G3 c; n# j5 D! n0 e, O, Q0 Z8 T
concerning babies between 6- and 18- months of age. The purpose of the study is to understand how language and( S, b. o3 N! ]* \- M( O* x
attachment are related. For example, we want to know if babies that are good at relating to people around them
]7 _% X& @; Z* T. Pwill acquire language earlier and faster.
