1 ~: H2 J+ T1 m/ J# NWhat was a contest, has now become a fight about Alberta’s future and the future of the PC Party, a fight about the values Albertans hold, and a fight about Alberta’s role in Canada.

This final week is about the difference between those of us who want to take on tomorrow’s challenges and those who want to fight yesterday’s battles.

It is about the difference between firewalls and open doors... between dividing Albertans and uniting us behind a new vision... between hope for the future and fear.

I know where I stand.

I want to take on tomorrow’s challenges, not fight yesterday’s battles.

# B; [! Q% S; c( b* N9 v! U: uUnlike Ted Morton, I will support the RCMP. I believe the Mounties and Alberta grew up together and we should honour them and support them. Let’s put our next dollar into fighting crime, not building a new police bureaucracy. I won’t waste billions on a new Alberta pension plan just so we can go it alone.

I will support Alberta’s public health system. We don’t need a parallel private system where people dig into their pockets for health care. We can shorten wait times and improve the system and I will support the men and women working in the system to do just that.

5 q/ `) d, n. g8 u  @I will take a strong stand for the environment, one that won our campaign the endorsement of the Conservation Voters of Alberta.

+ \  H6 b$ ~/ ]0 l3 Z  dI know Albertans are proud Canadians. We’re ready to take our place in Canada as a strong partner in this country. I say we accept the national challenge of improving Canada and take the lead by trying new solutions and working with other provinces.
