No one was injured after a brush fire tore through a section of Edmonton's river valley on Friday night.( T) D4 h! X- O0 X" {/ m
The fire started around 11 p.m. near the Wolf Willow and Rio Terrace neighbourhoods in the west end of the city. / t' u6 I3 X, A
Edmonton Fire Rescue spokeswoman Sarah Meffen said 17 fire trucks were called to fight the fire. It was declared under control at 1:20 a.m., and was officially out at 3:20 a.m.9 |# Z- t0 }# e
The fire covered a large area of the ravine, Meffen said, but none of the nearby homes were evacuated.
