newcomer need help on computer

& b( [! w0 W3 Y1 n2 W/ N! ?$ qi arrived at edmonton 21, may. i am so glad to find this websit here.
i live in an old canadian couple's house, i can read chinese but i can not write chinese on her computer. yestoday, i got the permit of her and install microsoft office2000 words to her computer. guess what? i upgraded hers office-word(english), so now, only chinese office-word in her computer, but i still can not write chinese, now, i understand that i need keyboard language. but i do not know so much about computer, i do not know what can i do now. i need help, anyone can help me? please email to me linpetty@hotmail.com or phone:485-5991 Lin Bing (wife)or Li Bing(husband)thanks.

不是太懂..  可以到微软的网站上 下个程序什么的吧??  希望老羊能帮你解决问题.

这是我朋友的说法：
: ^7 H( i& M" ]应该是英文版的officexp，office update也应该是打英文补丁，除非他装的是MUI（Multilanguage user interface），改成中文界面了，那就可以在程序－》office工具－》office xp语言设置里改。
第2：win98下只能安装中文之星、南极星之类的外挂平台，不能直接装中文输入法。

I meet the same problem too. I tried to download the Chinese input method from microsoft before. but it is still doesn't work.

只需要到window的控制面板处找到‘region’，打开它，然后在最后一页，添加输入法即可。你安装office之后，会在输入法列表中找到微软的拼音输入法。

oh, friends, i have tried all the ways that you offered to me, but they did not work. another problem is some certain chinese websit show chinese, the others show "luan ma" . what' s wrong with this computer?

如果有乱码，在“查看”里面选择“编码”，然后选择中文，就应该可以解决了。

系统里面应该有自带的输入法，好象用不到这么麻烦
