The U-Pass will give students unlimited travel on public transit in Edmonton, Saint Albert and Strathcona County.

Getting to this point took five years of debate and negotiations, said U of A student union president Samantha Power on Friday.

# u c" |! u4 ?5 KPower said the U-Pass will be environmentally friendly by encouraging more students to use transit, and those who already buy monthly passes will save about $300 a year when the new pass kicks in next fall.
