EDMONTON (CP) - A tentative deal that would see Alberta doctors receive their first fee increase in almost a year-and-a-half should help retain physicians in the booming province, but it won't necessarily improve patient care, says the president of the Alberta Medical Association.

' N8 [8 \7 o- w" h0 x. @2 c"It will keep physicians hopefully in this province. It will hopefully attract more physicians to this province and therefore has the potential to improve care," Dr. Gerry Kiefer said at a news conference Saturday. . C$ l& G, c0 ^8 W1 X
