The procurement officer is responsible for:
/ \! F" e$ x" e6 }9 z- Identifying and serving the needs of each business department
7 Z) U' F' `! h5 a# ]: {6 [/ Y* v- Sourcing and evaluating local, national or international suppliers& h& {! F8 e; c6 O- X% o5 N7 ?
- Negotiating terms, conditions and contracts7 D! E% z* k( D' `
- Building and managing supplier relationships
7 v# u+ W& M: T9 W, _- Performing cost savings and profit margin analyses8 w. E6 h% s+ }2 W3 J, ]+ G; O
# S8 Z9 u1 y4 w a% i$ X4 L# ~Requirements: 9 H3 v$ o4 g' Q* a
- Sound research skills+ s4 Q5 K2 v; w0 y! w8 l
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
: b; F( ^: N' h2 W4 c" h+ k' J: m- Strong organization and time management skills 0 J7 m$ w) B; z: E; O
- Friendly and outgoing personality 6 _1 x% w/ O2 W
- Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook ( R! V$ A: i) ^9 K( V
- Cycle counting and adjusting experience preferred 6 L7 R* K4 }( d+ [) L& k
- Experience with mechanical parts, welding materials, PPE and consumables for the construction industry is an asset
