Statistics Canada is looking for a reliable individual for a part-time position to work evenings and
4 P' x4 U/ `" v3 r$ j. H# pweekend hours.
5 Y8 h2 Y& b8 M/ G4 |! |) kYou will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer( c/ ?, Y5 n Q- r2 Q9 h
lab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the
) o; o, u" m+ V. icentre.) T2 ~$ e' J& q0 }. [% S1 o2 J* S
These responsibilities include:# `5 y* E) F/ S4 X
-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC.1 P% s+ W% K" W9 s3 R) H0 B
-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP.
% x W7 ?. k" X. w! z-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and
9 `% \. g6 ^4 h/ P! Srenewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to 9 f- w2 R4 V. l/ k8 Q
facilities’ maintenance, etc.
! P$ b, `6 I8 ~8 e-Conduct other office related tasks, such as Internet documents search, backup of electronic . i' I M) R7 e( d9 H
clients’ files etc.

Education:
# |8 i( T/ F# p5 U+ W& [: k- ~-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences, & B. r( [# c. b0 q' W* R1 N
education, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination
4 d2 }# D3 s7 U# k$ q, {9 Hof education, training and /or experience.
# x/ \+ s( v1 m' t: OKnowledge/Technical competencies:9 i3 \' m$ q* `5 V h' n
-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system.
" U; V f) h, J# w2 O-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word
) o+ o/ `/ S0 C6 h% y) v4 g$ Rand Excel.
8 o6 J& e/ A* K4 G-Experience using and updating an information database. 7 l1 t, U7 Y) D3 J5 @3 h y1 T

-Experience in using MS Access.
) K. q, ?" N+ s-Experience in web page publication, xml and/or IT network knowledge.
