You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer
) w2 e% ]+ g- E" w7 Hlab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the8 Q6 `! L q. p) [0 q5 h9 h
centre.2 L" U2 H2 }) T4 P. T8 i
These responsibilities include:5 J; N+ t3 G, l/ x5 z
-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC.
* M( a/ M h9 `4 M8 T/ B-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP.8 r: I3 y# g0 e& `$ Q
-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and* Z( a& p/ G) x3 L/ _% O
renewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to - s5 G% m+ C8 T& c; b, ?0 b
facilities’ maintenance, etc.
8 m! V+ m3 S6 L% Q' M3 [-Conduct other office related tasks, such as Internet documents search, backup of electronic g4 i. O. Z, n
clients’ files etc.

Education: + B y7 E# o/ b; |; i6 V, t" ^* M
-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences,
8 W6 n: w; D. j8 Q+ r- i6 Seducation, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination 7 d- y8 ]! D) ?( H4 p
of education, training and /or experience.
2 ?: S1 s* V; [, X8 V y8 ~Knowledge/Technical competencies:2 b T6 v I+ o0 w
-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system., S/ v% M% E/ j; O* Q1 l0 V( m
-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word
: A2 \' w' d# s/ Xand Excel. * ~0 k% |. j. _! q; @; r& _
-Experience using and updating an information database.

-Experience in using MS Access.

-Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
