Statistics Canada is looking for a reliable individual for a part-time position to work evenings and1 F: E% w# r$ E4 x8 K* w# ^
weekend hours.
4 P* H$ L6 w }! e+ XYou will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer. J. [2 C2 W5 l' g) W
lab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the6 R" o% y" u6 x% \3 i' a* H
centre.
6 J9 {' x$ R2 E% V4 U) ^These responsibilities include:# j/ ~7 a" T. U+ \
-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC." i. |: ]* N+ S) B0 D$ S, Y6 t2 T
-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP.- r# W f9 j0 V! i6 [( B* R
-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and) o+ X: m& p I2 Y
renewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to 3 \9 ?: M. n7 V4 A
facilities’ maintenance, etc. 7 D; A. ~- d: `/ `
-Conduct other office related tasks, such as Internet documents search, backup of electronic 9 @& e, T) D/ ]0 X

Education:
1 _* K" q' `% ?-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences, - L, }* M) ^9 n1 ~2 `- N
education, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination
: R* j* u* Z# r2 J$ {of education, training and /or experience.
3 n: I" N f \* J# F gKnowledge/Technical competencies:7 Q% B) n% r4 U* P# V: T
-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system.# S* v- K3 a; Z0 J# ?! K' W l
-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word
$ Z3 D; D4 p' y0 G3 f5 Gand Excel. * e* p0 @! q2 y
-Experience using and updating an information database. & b! q% J; ]/ d
