The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.

+ d9 w* u; }. u& cSalary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.
; x' M2 z0 g0 m& k) S7 w4 x- `  [
& `1 D: P7 M1 }) j# z, L. gDuties include: working closely with graduate students and research
, E" r7 ]6 b4 ]2 y) `+ _7 Ytechnicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
for use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
include carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
compounds by chromatography.

Qualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
* X: h) A' D+ D% J7 E6 a4 R! ~Chemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
analytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
" G7 _  j' R; a- Dseparations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
, ^6 Q' S+ C/ |5 `- u& q! o3 v1 Kof a team essential.
This position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
( I% y. d2 A9 C% P& x1 e) z% U. l) vand chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
7 R/ d' E0 N4 N/ N. I, {# ghope to work in these areas.
