The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.
9195.  

Salary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

; n7 e0 {# e5 h7 r' O' ZDuties include: working closely with graduate students and research
technicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
2 v7 {9 o$ T! P! qfor use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
include carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
5 q. l+ T; x/ \/ b' q9 mcompounds by chromatography.
$ J, A7 F8 c% z0 |% K" W2 {+ {$ `, J
Qualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
6 `. f' J3 I! pChemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
analytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
) E# N2 t  N3 q+ p9 Z& [+ Vseparations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
- E" b0 }0 u( ]$ Z; h+ Nof a team essential.
" R1 @, l, E8 Z4 t8 @  ZThis position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
& h* {& G1 U! ^6 \- d2 {7 n$ @& Band chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
