currently recruiting for the position of Summer Program Assistant - Job

Salary to be paid will be $14.00 per hour (includes vacation pay, stat
pay, student premium, and second language augmentation)

7 A6 b) }, e/ N, p- t( [Hours per week will be 20 - 30 - 20 during the first few weeks, then 30
: u+ Z+ Y# U" d0 Q. @5 f- 35 per week during the busy period. There may be an opportunity for
+ ^, k1 N, w. A% h- zthe student to stay on a casual basis (10 - 20 hours per week) once the
school year starts.

Duties include: preparing for programs by working with current staff at
CIBS to secure and schedule various program requirements (off-campus
( c. Y7 y, O7 [) O) Y" dvenues, tour agents, goods and services, program materials and supplies,
etc.); reproducing and distributing documents and correspondence for
$ m' f+ w2 U" P7 q( ]% ]3 T8 `participants, assisting to orient participants to the University and
their program on their arrival, and trouble-shooting for them during
- L+ c/ u8 q7 P- q, A4 btheir program; booking program venues, setting up for sessions,
assisting visiting speakers or invited session presenters, striking
( w. y1 a9 k4 \6 H0 L4 a* P- Rvenue at end of session; traveling as guide with groups on in-city
outings or site visits, or, occasionally, on overnight out-of-city
0 p3 L+ v) V+ Y4 W8 n4 rexcursions (does not involve driving or overnight week night
" g/ \& W, O. x5 f) X9 T, pexcursions); interpreting (non-technical exchanges) at meetings or
functions; translating, revising or drafting program-related documents
such as schedules, itineraries, notices, correspondence, PowerPoint
presentations, program binders, evaluation forms, etc.

+ Z! ?3 t5 w6 ^) U1 m, rQualifications include: senior undergrad student; coursework in
9 t; L4 C, t6 O- ~. r. g- ^+ _/ ACommerce, Education or Economics preferred, ability to communicate
fluently (oral and written) in English and Mandarin Chinese,
2 l! Q3 `) b( i7 C' J5 i! S+ fdemonstrates a high-level of self organization, initiative to undertake
a variety of tasks; ability to coordinate individual efforts with those
- n2 R7 {4 A7 Q$ K5 ~of co-workers, excellent interpersonal organization and time-management
skills; accuracy to detail; working knowledge of MS applications (Word,
Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook); administrative experience an asset,
; M2 X- i8 J/ a: y* l) Eexperience coordinating group activities an asset.
