BARTENDER - Room At The Top (RATT) - includes some serving  Q* H% ^  j9 M/ W4 R$ {. c

22.5 hours a week - Hours from 10:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., Monday

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  % N& w4 M3 M: L+ {: j
Operations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  ) f# c5 _1 |" u4 y! `% n/ P; M5 r
procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  
$ F4 ?, H0 C: ^" H7 Jcleanliness and order in the bar.
7 Z0 _8 O  R! a$ n& [5 [. j& ?5 [2 T1 G' C: d
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
; I# F4 u2 h: l& o1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  - F; i$ ]" ]/ }4 p2 b; L! V- z# `
beverage items./ b7 C  n' Z" _* z
0 N' {" D- V) W3 i4 x2 }
2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  7 Q+ z3 D0 _3 y9 v
bar and debit floats.) }: B# L/ m; J( ?; h

3 M1 C8 V0 ^/ W# D- t8 I% U3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  
- }% Y- y+ z, [# }2 feach shift, and upon closing.9 Z- O& R$ I+ h6 \: Y( b+ d8 o0 G+ c, k

7 ^- t$ b# x( @1 M2 m4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular  ! g! B5 ~1 j8 g2 w8 _2 R4 ]) U
attention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  ! u; ^% G! J, U1 q4 f# q
seating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.
+ @1 s. l* F/ I9 S0 x' \' A+ P7 m5 o6 Y7 B. u0 I; _- Q
5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  
# Q+ d" h" g* l$ [' Bstorage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  . }9 Z# ^& J4 U% B- o
products, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift.

6 h: w. m) L1 ^7 F9 i6 w6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  . k& Y. r3 a5 l+ \
monitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  
1 R* ~& F- ]' xhigh level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  
  b) t3 y" y: Z" Uaccordance with Students' Union policies.

7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  + a5 L1 A  f4 J
high standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.
: v( X0 M0 Z' L  H5 ?0 y To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
+ R2 O" }0 f2 X, CAuthority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

9) Other job related duties as required by the Operations Manager,

% j  a  E- Q) l3 g% c8 aQUALIFICATIONS:
) U; o7 l( Q8 K7 d. N1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.2 P$ ]# {- ]3 I2 K; n

2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  " e3 v$ |2 ~0 }
operation.; V) p: N4 \* l0 q: ]8 y% X! T
7 L$ G( {2 ~, B- M
3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  # Y" C$ z$ \5 z; ~" V  r
accordance with Students' Union policy.3 r7 m+ W# `7 [4 r

4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs.0 U; t- j0 U1 J

5) Ability to interact effectively with all customers and Students´  
3 H9 A! T9 J. t% P  \Union staff while presenting a friendly, respectful and diplomatic  2 }( ~( v$ U* J0 n8 ]! V0 G
attitude.
