ACTION FOR HEALTHY COMMUNITIES (AHC) is recruiting students (preferably members of a visible minority community and/or of a Disability community) for the following summer position: Community Initiatives Documenter. We are a non-profit community development organization operating in central Edmonton. We promote community inclusion as a strategy for increasing citizenship participation and action.

Length: A maximum of 15 weeks

Position Responsibilities

' J# [' B- V: q  Z0 NCommunity Initiatives Documenter
The CI Documenter will contact and meet leaders of 30 Community Initiatives (mini-projects) to discuss and document their progress to date, facilitate a planning process for each CI to sustain their outcomes, and create a final document analyzing CI trends, strengths, learnings and plans.

Education Background: Health Promotion, Sociology, or related Social/Human Sciences field.

: ~) i" u1 J$ ~4 z) H7 l7 k1.        Full-time college or university student, under 30 years of age before and after the position and not attending full-time classes while participating in their placement.
8 q4 R; `  @5 X2 G7 s, j1 G2.        Legally entitled to work according to relevant federal and provincial legislation and regulations.
3.        Good organizational and verbal and written communication skills.
! j/ I2 `2 v2 Y  [# j" _4.        Team player and also able to work independently. Able to deal proactively with change and achieve goals through coordination with other people.
