ACTION FOR HEALTHY COMMUNITIES (AHC) is recruiting students (preferably members of a visible minority community and/or of a Disability community) for the following summer position: Community Initiatives Documenter. We are a non-profit community development organization operating in central Edmonton. We promote community inclusion as a strategy for increasing citizenship participation and action.

The CI Documenter will contact and meet leaders of 30 Community Initiatives (mini-projects) to discuss and document their progress to date, facilitate a planning process for each CI to sustain their outcomes, and create a final document analyzing CI trends, strengths, learnings and plans.5 [% i: I6 V" ]7 r# i8 e9 ^( I

Education Background: Health Promotion, Sociology, or related Social/Human Sciences field., S7 i# J4 W2 v- T2 }

Qualifications: 9 I% p) d: ~3 l7 _
1. Full-time college or university student, under 30 years of age before and after the position and not attending full-time classes while participating in their placement.
; T& \6 Q# _6 R2. Legally entitled to work according to relevant federal and provincial legislation and regulations.3 ~. F \0 m, }9 h7 ]5 h
3. Good organizational and verbal and written communication skills.# T5 P$ ]( h% W: ~% V6 N
4. Team player and also able to work independently. Able to deal proactively with change and achieve goals through coordination with other people.2 n! t# C0 L# c: {# r
