The Organization: Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! is a registered nonprofit
society led by a youth board of directors to enhance/encourage youth
volunteerism in Alberta. By working with nonprofit organizations/youth
ages 14-24, we foster collaboration between motivated youth,

8 \: t4 Y% w+ X$ _6 \Position Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management
3 I! T7 q8 _/ Yand leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a
non-voting member and champions youth volunteerism in Alberta.  The ED
works within the structures set by the organization's bylaws and
% _: p+ R) T1 b" ], L, j0 Zpolicies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's
affairs at all times.

Primary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a
vision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative
arrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,
6 Q# W. V% d4 X  }media/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports
for the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures
to implement the organizational policies.

% C5 L; y& B) w% {PLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded
as per their requirements; Plan, implement and evaluate programs and
services; Recruit, interview, select & coach staff/volunteers that have
the right abilities to help further the organization's mission.

0 n  [) A( K. w& OIn addition: Prepare budget; Search & secure adequate; oversees the
development of fundraising plans/writing funding proposals; Administer
$ G1 G0 G0 P* D/ l' wthe funds of the organization & monitor the monthly cash flow; Ensure
that bookkeeping/accounting practices are followed; Process accounts
payable; Develop communication/marketing tools to increase awareness of
the organization & its programs; Work with website contractor/developer.

Key Qualifications: Experience working with a number of different groups
8 q) y; x; ?1 o5 z: [$ Zincluding a Board of Directors, non-profit organizations, government
partners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of
- T& Y2 C+ n! B* I3 }3 t1 ~1 Aorganizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to
" _7 f) z" n- wwork in a self-directed work environment; Experience planning and

" V5 z: \% k: a3 FPLUS: Creative approach to marketing; Understanding of board governance
) m3 b, U* w' ^' g# W, q' }processes an asset; Experience obtaining sponsorship and writing
' C5 I1 U8 W. J7 Z6 X8 A3 ^1 Uproposals; A youthful spirit and enthusiasm for championing and working
with youth.
