Position Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management
: o7 O2 m9 o1 n3 Y; h- t' a% Land leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a9 p/ A5 m. c4 S0 |
non-voting member and champions youth volunteerism in Alberta. The ED
# } c! I8 A) R( a h8 Z* l7 a8 Eworks within the structures set by the organization's bylaws and
8 N9 ~$ f5 I1 m! O4 X- p" Upolicies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's

Primary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a
2 J1 R) s1 f) Mvision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative) S2 m2 ^ W4 l+ J: Y, ^. u: T
arrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,) l0 F& | m1 L
media/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports: f' D8 v0 P; ~* j5 Y
for the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures
3 ~( R7 J3 [- ^2 dto implement the organizational policies.! r0 j4 Q$ u9 |( j. t. [- @$ F

PLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded
1 O. h. P% s# T$ tas per their requirements; Plan, implement and evaluate programs and
3 p. l6 e- a3 ~9 N2 T% iservices; Recruit, interview, select & coach staff/volunteers that have
; p8 A& s3 c( F, Wthe right abilities to help further the organization's mission. $ ~& X1 U9 p# Q( ], ^

In addition: Prepare budget; Search & secure adequate; oversees the

the funds of the organization & monitor the monthly cash flow; Ensure/ w8 p4 e5 t; D6 W6 S. q2 O* X
that bookkeeping/accounting practices are followed; Process accounts
) F0 b/ U2 b2 Qpayable; Develop communication/marketing tools to increase awareness of

v# t' ^. b) D* c2 q0 XKey Qualifications: Experience working with a number of different groups7 P( @9 s# Y- _
including a Board of Directors, non-profit organizations, government" m# u- @: W# t: |
partners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of
! n: J0 @) z# W, dorganizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to
/ ~8 F* S+ {3 y5 n3 Swork in a self-directed work environment; Experience planning and; n! V! \5 k' y5 S, j% r0 [7 r4 ?
