This is a long term posting with the successful applicants being called to fill positions on an ‘as-required’ basis.

• Transport passengers to and from destinations on prescribed scheduled routes.
* k; A) N8 E- j o• Collect proper fare, issue transfers.

• Operate a Transit diesel bus and/or trolley coach, on a day, night or split shift under varying weather 2 w, T, }! A1 i! b) F

• Adhere to schedules.! V- {, s* }) d
• Obey and follow defensive driving guidelines, local traffic laws and Transit system regulations.

• Grade eleven (11) or an equivalent educational level is required. Formal training in driving or public relations will be considered an asset.

to be diplomatic and courteous in dealing with the public, from the first passenger to the last passenger & |+ A+ t- [7 q# }. y

• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job (operate bus controls, re-set trolley poles, provide passengers with assistance i.e. strollers, wheelchairs etc.).: e5 [$ U1 d5 C- X' U( o2 o
• Applicant must possess a valid class 5 Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator's license (non-probationary and non-graduated) and must have held a valid operator's license for (3) consecutive years.
) q" f* o7 [" s% s- u7 f- t9 Q• Selected applicants must pass the Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator's class 2 written test, at their own expense, prior to training.; u- |' r7 E+ |- T) M" J! ]7 l% Z6 n! ~
• Applicant must provide a current driver's abstract (obtained within 14 days of the video test date)

• Ability to pass a written English comprehension test, a public relations video-test, a driving skill
! c7 s$ o2 G3 ]video-test, a Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (F.A.R.E.) test, a pre-employment City medical examination and a Police Security clearance (at their own expense, prior to training).) C6 m6 z P$ S
• Successful completion of the ETS Training Program.

HOURS OF WORK:! ]- Z4 o! S: k) w
Various hours of shift work (straight or split shift), any time of the day, any 5 days of the week
! B, q9 b# e) O$ B' j5 l+ E1st year: Guaranteed minimum 67.4 hours bi-weekly7 {$ {* `! u7 _% s. V, w- j
Thereafter: Guaranteed minimum 74 hours biweekly+ ~1 k* L9 ?+ J, z: S
& P+ A3 Z* d. Z4 O9 wSALARY RANGE: 401, Salary Grade: 004 : o1 F! s' `# j" n; I- k& K
Training Rate: $16.56 Hourly

The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.
