TEMPORARY CREATION ASSISTANTS

  6-8 Week Term, August - mid September 2007& i: Z, R+ r, k, V  m6 h

JOB SUMMARY:  Under the supervision of the Senior Operations Manager-
! |  G. d2 q7 i; {( L4 \2 k8 NSU Print Centre and Operations Manager-Production & Technical  
) j6 G' A- G$ ^' G0 Z" B8 H9 rSupport, these positions are responsible for assisting in all aspects  3 h1 o4 r; a% n, h/ y! V
of Course Pack production.
- z0 C4 [# O' J1 N7 `& i& ?
5 K' v2 T" E0 t3 {7 ^7 I% P! oDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
) k' b" Y. b0 A+ g. T1) To assist in the creation of course packs, including the scanning  9 s+ O9 N4 j0 O* e& |1 d% R
of paper files, editing of digital files, proofing and printing.+ A; X, u0 m5 X: L" [& e' q

* e; s) {  @" W- x& N+ z: N2) To develop a good working knowledge of print equipment, including  
; I+ M& U8 c) j2 |" {  \print queue, paper loading, toner and technical troubleshooting.
" f; U/ _3 z+ M' L1 ?7 \; x$ q+ Z6 |7 M1 K
3) To assist with all aspects of bindery, packing and shipping of  
& }8 z7 X9 |( U: v0 R7 h4 _course packs. This includes following operational procedures and  5 `! _1 |) Z; X$ a# n  k1 C+ D: v: J: j
keeping appropriate and accurate records.- P( [: z+ n3 O4 O& d$ D& h
  C* w) ?1 s' h" q4 h5 V. @$ Z5 s
4) To communicate stock needs and printing and bindery equipment  
: R; m* K' |' e4 Y  K9 ^failures to the Operations Manager.) [+ Y1 M- E1 j, w' ?: E, ^" c6 r

9 h) a+ T" _6 C8 o5) To develop a working knowledge of Access Copyright requirements,  
  q9 y4 d; G" L- q# T  v4 y7 |and adhere to regulations as appropriate.

+ [. f: _8 v; f! X* t1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.
- {  v/ h9 p' K2) Attention to details. Excellent organizational and communication  2 l7 y, R/ |: ]$ h$ J
skills.( {" J* x9 g: @. Y  J1 a1 v4 h, ^
/ B0 j% j/ u7 B- D( q
3) A good working knowledge of Windows would be helpful.' I- I& `; A0 Y+ _

4) An aptitude for technical problem determination and resolution.9 t+ d& |! }! T  Y* E8 T

6) Experience in print industry an asset but not necessary.
