Apply to Extend my mom's visitor stay

Hi there,

My mom's visitor status in Canada is expiring. We are planning to apply for her extension. I did read the application package but have two questions:

8 m( ]4 w  K: S7 P1. The reasons for an extension. Can we use the reason: we want her help to take care of our new born baby? There are people say it is a bad reason. Is it true?

& J  _6 ]( @5 e% N) W7 P, ]; J1 o3 b2. In the Document Checklist - Visitor. Proof of means of support, as specified. Since we are taking care of her, what are the required documents for "proof of means of support"?
