Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Key Responsibilities
1 i8 d( C2 }8 B0 P2 q- submit information for community news $ m6 q8 e: |$ T/ }
- provide volunteers to update membership database
( M, ^ ]& p5 Y/ O- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers4 B. e6 ^# [$ \1 c9 d6 [
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties3 v2 \# B- @4 K; Z; U
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
b# F2 Q5 r! {3 L- provide volunteers for various programs 7 |5 e. Y$ Q5 k J+ F6 T- ?
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
% C! O# }: c, d \% j: z- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
$ C3 Y- F f' C' K) P" U- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities0 I. ^, K% j4 c2 U* _) G
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services$ I0 i) D3 Q$ ~$ d; ?
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
1 H4 c' Z0 k( _9 [( Z- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
- V9 ~9 ~" }3 U' X( ~6 ^- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
$ b$ x! k' Q# F( W- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
) @- s% ?9 k9 B& \) N* j- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events 7 H# M9 s! e) n$ x: v, m
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual 5 r" N! [4 B3 ~
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
2 V5 c- M, a0 Q5 k U; N8 ^- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers ; \" @: ]. ~0 {, {0 t- H6 e
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis

, F$ @7 m. K0 P8 T6 T- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre' P! Y! R+ I6 O! b; L

' z; y- n A Y5 |7 o' G" v- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education# }- o; ]" b- F! G8 q' P% t
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills& W4 }4 U p2 D; w8 _' p
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services0 r* j2 A( a% W) i; t S
- leadership skills. X8 q. a! }% M
- management and supervision skills! \9 `( T3 {1 b/ B6 {$ G- `
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
