Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Key Responsibilities8 t r3 f0 Q' J1 p; A; H
- submit information for community news # s- X3 h& q- x6 w& ^* y
- provide volunteers to update membership database6 v7 o4 ~, P3 Q$ L# W/ Q. K0 S
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers& P' @, U+ b5 \6 G! J( P$ J6 z: z
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties# ~8 p4 s6 ~3 F7 E$ k& z$ {
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
- |! U1 q' Q- H7 B/ u5 X% u# A- provide volunteers for various programs
* F/ A" L$ z- x8 Y& \; s! u- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual, p8 o6 P" x8 s: A
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation4 K9 d8 i4 u3 ?: j; p! @
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
- D- l5 i2 [$ q ?- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services2 b$ d. L; _: P
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
. z( b; j3 c" P6 ?7 Z( i) p t- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed" M) J- i1 f" h
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed

- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events

- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers 9 s- ]. j. [5 A* E" U% |* }) U
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers & V- Q% c- L+ r- l( Z6 v- h
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis - \) c0 {5 D1 ^ I! j
- evaluations # Z; m' o2 k( y; k7 C9 L
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre1 k/ o: P6 G8 b8 w: c

Qualifications% r9 S& m3 a/ V' x
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
9 T; w9 p$ x8 M* s6 ?' L- good oral and written Chinese and English skills0 ^/ G- p! E, P3 f, H) s6 w
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services8 s& f9 r7 ^, V0 T) I9 T
- leadership skills1 K: D( w0 i; L8 q P
- management and supervision skills0 i. C# f# g! Y* y+ M/ Z+ l
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
