Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Key Responsibilities
. p/ S+ m9 w0 z+ B+ H' m1 V! U1 j- submit information for community news 6 [5 v+ v/ z' I( |6 c5 h* N5 ^
- provide volunteers to update membership database) j a! a5 d( l: ?1 Q. o$ y
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
8 m9 l4 x7 ]4 @4 t4 _2 P- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties$ D |: p: V$ t/ o. M. B& M
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
) I, R! }0 h V+ j+ L- provide volunteers for various programs * L4 u8 I- s" U- g. n1 X
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
' l* W7 W5 N5 o- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
8 D5 L; y, c% R7 @5 U# g- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
" v$ Q$ E3 p5 z+ |$ I Y$ p2 r2 p; X- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services! P" z. e0 c4 H, J+ X
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports! F; N! J7 ?8 h. x: I% ]1 e" d6 F
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
( P4 h( Y* m+ x- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed' c2 n% ~9 x2 z Z6 K8 u
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)1 N7 u0 m: i' U! n7 k" T
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events + g, Z# q& ?! P- v7 p; O0 k2 _
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual 2 `8 D! _( h* T% H9 A. z
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
% w/ F+ Q( S. B s6 @- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
8 I R* k" {9 K" s% @0 p- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis
/ R; C S' w6 y0 c w. |$ B- evaluations
8 y; O# H# {6 j' x) V- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

Qualifications
; ~2 X% r9 W" W, f' s$ h- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
% u1 h6 _6 k* B! s8 {: o* T; r- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
b3 u+ V2 n+ ~- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
; }; s$ _. w; V) z& s' B0 U$ ]- leadership skills
4 S" e4 p6 K+ Q% X/ }- management and supervision skills; B! A, r. z; \" i" ~
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
