Job Description

Board
4 Q$ ?7 o* z$ m. ~# O, e) ~' F•        reports directly to the Board of Directors
+ P7 p8 a& W1 @' t8 C•        is accountable to the Board for the achievement of the agency’s vision mission and goals
( ]6 w- w/ r$ z$ r# [- H•        is fiscally accountable to the Board with all projects and administration of the agency within an approved budget by the Board
3 V0 O0 \, g' H5 E3 n4 e•        assist the Board in fund development planning and implementation: e( E" ]6 ^' r. N* x

' e% E  K% B  |•        is accountable for effective administration of agency

•        develop/review and administer operational policies and procedures- H' n- _/ g7 x: S5 J. N
•        development and management of the programs budget
1 X$ c' M6 p; A! f7 f•        develop, implement and manage operational and programming budgets' I" F. a: t* a/ g" O' w6 }8 z

. l% v/ r" i! }, |•        responsible for recruitment, selection, training and performance appraisal and termination of staff! @0 W8 ^$ U+ r' `8 N( T$ P. A
•        provide leadership to staff and volunteers
, I& @, I' {8 e7 L, F" A0 G•        provide day to day leadership to support staff in programming functions( q1 z4 K6 O  J2 `, Q
•        monitor progress of agency service providers and coordinators
9 {/ t  |7 }( L* w. p: Y5 I•        provide opportunities for staff development and growth9 f5 r4 w6 s" r6 x
•        meet with staff on regular basis3 T- A& w* p9 W, R; {
•        build and maintain collegial and strong working relationships with staff

4 F* z& J* g1 DPrograms/Services
3 y% w! `" H! o8 F, u- t•        overall management of all agency projects/programs and services
# i9 |3 U/ M; o8 }$ d•        design, develop and monitor client-centred programs and activities7 f- Q1 _: W2 y) h% N( @
•        prepare, complete and submit all program proposals including budgets and reports to the funders and key stakeholders- [( O! w7 M1 C' \! N
•        set program priorities and directions * f+ l! X" A/ E- @5 a
•        identify community and user needs and trends
* u# V) {. ^2 V( S9 A•        implement and monitor programs and community activities to meet identified needs and trends$ F) T9 q/ k: R) W
•        conduct program evaluation/survey/research, y0 F  H" A; m4 P6 o7 g
•        maintenance of appropriate reporting6 |0 M" ^6 q- C# o) A7 A# r) _0 d" u
•        delivery of program or activity to participants as required
+ P2 |7 {. s6 f•        build on knowledge of community resources in program development
: Z. i' e' m. [1 H' J" X! e•        ensure programs serve to enhance the coping capacities and well-being of people by removing inhumane systems or barriers and to empower people to work on positive changes in themselves and in others4 s6 r& N2 r0 n1 D0 m( h

. F- Q4 j9 a4 @3 _5 AExternal Relations0 H& }0 [5 s$ D9 ?6 Y" e
•        act as community liaison and cultural broker between the immigrant community and other communities4 h. d; T" T# ]2 B" L
•        build, maintain strong relationships with all levels of governments, businesses, community groups, public  & funders
7 Z' a/ o( G9 U( c8 P, {% M•        communicate the value of the organization to the public
4 ]% Q( n) ?3 ~; e•        identify community needs and trends- M( V9 R2 z  O% V, ]  }4 [
•        coordinate and monitor significant programs through liaison/partnership with other community groups0 k! }8 L* E- T( G# D
•        advocate, educate, promote cross-cultural respect & understanding of immigrants, visible minorities & other at risk or multi-risks groups
' ^! B. m# W( A' x4 Y) X9 _•        work with community and social agencies/groups to raise awareness of systemic issues affecting people from a broad socio-economic spectrum to social policy makers and to lobby for social changes in society, legislation and systems.1 Z, D1 z, h# i1 e9 w
•        Identify funding opportunities and resources that enhance the agency programs/services and staff$ S2 T4 a; w) @8 \$ o% h9 @

# o5 `  K$ ]# |Qualifications# b+ I0 n, x; G+ T3 W
-        University degree in a related field; * Y( v$ \8 P7 S3 F- }6 z/ D" d6 [- H
-        Knowledge of leadership and management principles as relate to nonprofit / voluntary organization;& x6 Q2 t9 S" n8 z4 h' P
-        Knowledge of human resources management, financial management, project management, fund development and organizational management; % ^# m7 [' q! u/ s$ ^9 T* f. u
-        2 or more years of progressive management experience in a voluntary sector organization
. u1 n% v; R( l, |3 U( i; g, ^& M) L+ _  d+ p
Salary
$ J7 ~3 u7 R( g, l9 \  o-        $50,000 - $55,000 + benefits
: }+ t* j: l% B3 G* L% g% C# z
$ }; X9 z& n4 i8 w& k) ]  YStandard Requirements
* f0 u+ Z0 l$ G) [  F-        Security check ( at the expense of employee) and child welfare check
