Job Description

•        is accountable to the Board for the achievement of the agency’s vision mission and goals' B* g0 _. c1 T$ A
•        is fiscally accountable to the Board with all projects and administration of the agency within an approved budget by the Board3 ~: @3 C' b$ [6 q4 t
•        assist the Board in fund development planning and implementation

•        is accountable for effective administration of agency ! U) p+ }( a8 Z; [$ E

•        develop/review and administer operational policies and procedures9 [% |0 k" v# L7 K
•        development and management of the programs budget/ a# T) ^, Y8 a
•        develop, implement and manage operational and programming budgets. ]9 B: V$ Y, e6 M, f

•        responsible for recruitment, selection, training and performance appraisal and termination of staff
& H& p/ T/ y) [•        provide leadership to staff and volunteers
) ^% t) W! ^- Y5 v* ^•        provide day to day leadership to support staff in programming functions
' K3 ], h# _' N. b•        monitor progress of agency service providers and coordinators
$ K! }3 v  t2 b5 F•        provide opportunities for staff development and growth
5 }2 A1 i- Y% f' F•        meet with staff on regular basis4 h! P6 l+ J3 U9 D, S
•        build and maintain collegial and strong working relationships with staff

$ b2 j5 V+ B( O; t, Z( W•        overall management of all agency projects/programs and services
# Q. P8 `$ }. b) f3 k•        design, develop and monitor client-centred programs and activities
7 E$ H5 e& s/ A/ B3 `•        prepare, complete and submit all program proposals including budgets and reports to the funders and key stakeholders) d* [# M& d! N% Z- @* s# A
•        set program priorities and directions
: w) l1 Z: ^, R1 u+ {! E•        identify community and user needs and trends
0 ?, j5 W+ D+ U' `- z" U•        implement and monitor programs and community activities to meet identified needs and trends

•        maintenance of appropriate reporting' l2 [6 y- n# C) \7 G
•        delivery of program or activity to participants as required0 [& W3 ~8 X2 ^4 K5 p* a/ c) W" n  U
•        build on knowledge of community resources in program development' q5 l3 u* C8 q. ?! G
•        ensure programs serve to enhance the coping capacities and well-being of people by removing inhumane systems or barriers and to empower people to work on positive changes in themselves and in others% |7 @; `1 H3 n2 Z8 _8 C6 P

External Relations
0 K" k3 p' W+ x* y& o, o9 X) g1 C% X•        act as community liaison and cultural broker between the immigrant community and other communities
, a9 C" c( ]1 s•        build, maintain strong relationships with all levels of governments, businesses, community groups, public  & funders5 B% \; x0 d. i- M+ c
•        communicate the value of the organization to the public
% O4 e) v+ y2 O% d•        identify community needs and trends- F! I0 M. d5 r9 d
•        coordinate and monitor significant programs through liaison/partnership with other community groups
' u. \& v5 @& q  ^, @•        advocate, educate, promote cross-cultural respect & understanding of immigrants, visible minorities & other at risk or multi-risks groups9 p. E2 a4 p% j( |- @" _
•        work with community and social agencies/groups to raise awareness of systemic issues affecting people from a broad socio-economic spectrum to social policy makers and to lobby for social changes in society, legislation and systems.+ v+ f3 a$ V8 @
•        Identify funding opportunities and resources that enhance the agency programs/services and staff
4 {& T% I  u3 h3 g8 [- X, _7 i1 F6 I  a8 \$ I0 R# y% N0 Y
Qualifications) R2 {7 D2 y4 M# W; b* p# x
-        University degree in a related field;
. v6 N$ M+ I6 N* m2 l2 Q) L; k-        Knowledge of leadership and management principles as relate to nonprofit / voluntary organization;
9 a% V7 d) ?( }5 J-        Knowledge of human resources management, financial management, project management, fund development and organizational management; . Z4 g7 Q5 P  {5 z5 c2 N& g3 ^9 W
-        2 or more years of progressive management experience in a voluntary sector organization
" A9 X3 F( x: D+ f+ k
# c& G/ a% \, n' r) b" h( e; _Salary
) D" |/ W2 `2 }! Z# w: G-        $50,000 - $55,000 + benefits
