Hours of work: 35 hours per week, ^* u6 P# @# W0 T( o, _
; `7 E) T" m( R3 FPosition Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team.

- w. d2 P' N3 ?2 Y1 _5 k- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community& {* a* z: a/ x) H! x* |# Z
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
& F& j5 [" Z3 ?& R( l' @- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services6 s, o* _6 n1 g, t
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies

- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre& g* Z e( k* N$ Z& D3 `% F
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services9 ^/ S8 j/ i R7 c
- assist in writing proposal for ISP6 i- W8 r* c7 l
- write quarterly and final reports for ISP9 Q9 @9 G q/ `& f2 d7 }
- explore new ideas for ISP 9 U' i" [" V4 s+ |* I' m/ b+ ^
- hold regular meetings with ISP team- ^1 E0 l9 P9 c. o
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time% z6 Z. {% T+ w! k u8 \: D
- update membership database

- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education _4 {, X% E2 |; w8 M+ _4 }. C
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills7 j- \6 G- k2 f7 Q
- experience in community work and immigrant services# a3 W0 T& D* s7 ~! g6 D- @+ s
- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars
