Position title: Community Development Worker

Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team.

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community. ` `1 i) X/ Z$ y" {
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services) ?' |6 b3 ~: c& m/ @9 Z
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services5 j" }: b: |3 ]6 a" X
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies

- `4 F8 s! q, B0 I( s- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members

- prepare and send AGM information to members

- update ASSIST website

- write quarterly and final reports for ISP

- hold regular meetings with ISP team

Qualifications' Z& v; i7 h4 r& c: Z7 K
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education N( k; z# c3 Q
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills+ w5 O# ^& ]/ @2 I3 k
- experience in community work and immigrant services4 g9 Y1 ]4 A- V# V- E
- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars
