A v7 QPosition Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team. ! Q" E. ~4 V/ ~

4 S+ u4 b9 J/ V) M- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community
! X% A: z: O5 j3 B- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services+ {% G5 p1 S- R0 o' s
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services* \* b) l! T2 D
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies0 {' I* W# W+ `+ y$ l V# ~ q
- coordinate good will activities

- prepare and send AGM information to members
9 x" @" _ i x" I6 o- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.8 @! b% T2 d8 @# W: Z
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities

$ P4 p. w4 u7 S' v- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

- assist in writing proposal for ISP3 P; l4 k! E9 _
- write quarterly and final reports for ISP
) y: `5 e! b/ k# D' s( Q* N- explore new ideas for ISP 0 a+ O( h4 z$ K2 W% s8 Y& o- j
- hold regular meetings with ISP team8 Q" t: ]! h* a6 F) v
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time$ C& v7 `* z( g1 A# i( I4 M
- update membership database

0 i, C; j; d8 `' ?1 E) |/ ^. }- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education
2 f$ k; v/ A$ h' T3 e$ \- good oral and written Chinese and English skills3 V) T( ~) m& M, O1 K
- experience in community work and immigrant services
2 U, k4 H* A- Z. m# h2 Z- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars2 y8 \; N% n: O" c5 z( D& v
- leadership skills
