University of Alberta, is focusing on the production and service of

. Z$ b) P# r6 b( estrong track record in molecular and/or cellular biology and willingness

% a9 S8 O3 ^- j& n5 q" G7 L9 PQualified candidates should have a PhD or MS degree within 5 years or will
' Q+ A6 k8 V0 a3 c9 U: f! ~% xobtain one within 2-3 months, in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry or a
! o) K! n1 H: E' hrelated field. Extensive experience in protein expression and purification
0 [  `: r; \8 w7 ~  Ofrom bacterial or eukaryotic sources, and/or in mammalian cell culture, is
5 O4 F) Q: f) [, b" ~7 U& _  wrequired. Familiarity with recombinant DNA techniques, including PCR, DNA
/ O$ }" T+ ]- y9 ucloning and mutagenesis is also required. Prior experience in protein
( S& U" S# d8 T7 ?over-expression in insect cells/yeast, or large-scale protein purification
is a good plus. The position requires excellent organizational skills with
/ S( n: L- a+ \5 r( \4 cthe ability to work independently and multi-tasked along with keeping
9 Z& |7 m5 ^4 y% C: Uaccurate and complete research records.

This position is conditional to a successful application of external
funding, such as the Alberta Ingenuity Fund R&D Associate. Anticipated
salary for the successful candidate will be 55-60K/yr depending on
