Position Title: Receptionist/Immigration Services Worker

& q ~2 c8 p" @8 A- assist with providing counter services and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker
- C! w9 u- i; P9 o m' X0 ~+ c& P- reports to the program manager and provides clerical support to all members of the ISP team

- post secondary diploma

Job Description
: d. N8 y5 s% n, O% d& D- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community. r; _5 U! ], C$ @
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
1 b3 B# j$ ^& {( g- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services
/ ?* ^ F1 [4 q/ V8 l- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies; A# U; ?7 S1 b E% `! c
- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members4 `4 z' M, G9 l! {+ [
- update ASSIST website; C" `& V) \7 w& B$ X
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre4 |( _( Z) t5 ~! b" {* A
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
3 B' Y6 {/ T) P! z# [9 O% w- assist in writing proposal for ISP$ M5 g7 L% T/ P8 w% i4 C& Q
- write quarterly and final reports for ISP' T1 f, S$ o/ t; P( l8 \: ^
- hold regular meetings with ISP team/ ]( P5 j+ j( U4 q8 R, }1 ^4 b
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

& a$ ]$ |- T' S& N" g0 E! v6 E- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required). S# o/ z( G4 s' S& c. C

- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education ( t) b+ J* j' k: q4 C% \" z- r
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills3 w8 a8 J/ q/ A# u" d* i8 t
- experience in community work and immigrant services
( `7 }& r4 c' C0 W! f" }% _& N- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
