8 F- M" B- t. m: j/ M9 i1. Chemical list and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS’s)
8 o% ?( t/ g3 b% k• help complete up-to-date chemical lists for all laboratories within the department
( E& W. P3 f$ |/ c+ g4 w) b6 M• collect and obtain MSDS’s for all chemicals
9 o" U3 i) i% z• make sure all chemicals are properly labelled and stored n% T# }4 ^4 |% K+ n5 w& {( I
• proper disposal of all unwanted chemicals6 Z H7 r b% W+ I, X
• finalize chemical lists and then duplicate and label all MSDS’s for distribution to OH&S for the MSDS on line system.

8 V: E% f/ s6 |9 S' ?2. Standard Operation Procedures (SOP’s) and Hazard Assessments (HA’s)! }. t$ e4 X5 B; t4 v# e
• help update the department SOP’s and HA’s. This will include verification of existing SOP’s and HA’s and tracking any that are needed.
# \1 m8 o- [0 f; k Q& y; m1 q- p2 f( J/ {0 f' a7 R
3. Tracking System
! g) A8 V! F% A• help develop a tracking system for adding or removal of chemicals as well as continual updating and verification of SOP’s and HA’s 0 l( x/ q6 a1 h4 i @. o
+ `( D$ C1 J( ~! E8 FCandidates should be inquisitive, thorough, and willing to learn. Some education and/or experience in safety is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment are required. - q0 y6 D; g7 A! a5 }" c2 N

This is a two-month summer position, preferably commencing the middle of June, which will pay an hourly wage commensurate with education and experience. Final candidates will be asked to undergo a security screening.7 k2 Y! @6 w" |6 L' r' d2 X
