Context: The Edmonton Waste Management Centre of Excellence is a not-for-profit organization with projects in research, training & technology development in waste management. The position is based at the Wastewater Research & Training Centre, located at Edmonton's Gold Bar Wastewater Treatment Plant. The hourly rate will depend on qualifications and experience.

Key responsibilities will include: reception functions at the WRTC; receive visitors & respond to general inquiries; help ensure facility security and safety policies are applied. 4 b/ V e3 n$ ?, L* `3 J
$ Q9 K5 r3 E; qAdministrative functions: update documents, dBases, directories; arrange for mail & courier services; document copying, printing, scanning, faxing; check general electronic mailbox/forward inquiries; update & maintain filing system; assist with committee/staff meetings; take & distribute minutes; schedule meetings, book room, send out agenda, order refreshments." Q0 S1 v I, b7 W$ v( I
c5 X: n" ~% O" a s! lPLUS: assist with Hosting of Delegations/Tours; maintain inventory of promotional material at Gold Bar; compile information packages for visitors to the Centre; book meeting rooms, tours busses & order refreshments; handle room set-up, housekeeping, provision of supplies & invoicing for services provided.

5 g+ Q5 l7 T5 ^; [' d' vIn addition: assist with Organization of Technical Seminars, Training Courses and other Events; book facilities, arrange for shuttle services, arrange catering & supplies; confirm speakers, accept/compile presentations; handle registration of participants, invoicing/payments; train & oversee facility users on operation of A/V equipment.9 G: ?: l4 Z# ]1 x4 h, ]5 N6 ^
) V3 Q4 N4 t* n) S; V5 zThe ideal candidate will have: a high school diploma, proven work experience in general office administration and an interest in working in a not-for-profit organization with a focus in the environmental field; an Office Assistant Diploma will be considered an asset.

) i( s/ @5 s. H9 o9 HYou are a self-motivated, highly organized and flexible individual with strong attention to detail. You are a good communicator with effective interpersonal and teamwork skills. You are able to multi-task and are skilled in using MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). 7 v( Z" w" |$ p, y- g: [

PLUS: You must possess a valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's License and supply your own vehicle for business use as required. You will be reimbursed in accordance with the Centre's car allowance policy. On-site parking is provided.
