* Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis
- h1 j4 U+ g8 ?3 w! H6 J! v2 u1 @ * Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography" M. W+ \3 T/ O( [. f! }% e6 f
* Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques

* Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals9 J9 X# e' P% U% ~/ k3 J4 f# r
* Provides safety training to students, staff and visitors using the lab

* Assists with laser ablation analyses on the multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS)% D, y: v3 O/ A- f9 B' R7 G

Qualifications
; E& F: B1 X3 P/ \6 D3 U# _
0 D0 b$ j9 b3 K( t * Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred5 s' `$ @$ E& F/ H/ V; p
* 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)
* A' U( E$ c) u4 N# E * Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel# I$ ]' r: m% @* X I- E
* A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures
