Position: Program Coordinator, New Neighbours Program / Salary & Benefits: As per AUPE agreement / Status: Regular Part-time, 21-28 hours per week. Note: Police and other checks are a condition of employment & the financial responsibility of the candidate / Closing Date: July 18, 08.

Context: Edmonton Immigrant Services Association is a nonprofit immigrant serving agency. The New Neighbours Program provides services aimed at facilitating the settlement/integration of newcomers into Canadian society.

: Q: A% x2 |/ [& M3 ~& e* E z$ T, |Key responsibilities: overseeing the day-to-day activities/operations of the program; recruitment, training & supervision of volunteers for the program; recruitment/orientation of participants; matching newcomers with community volunteers & monitoring the matches; planning other program activities; maintain computer dBase record of services/activities.

PLUS: act as a resource person; fulfill program accountability requirements; collaborate, network with other organizations /professionals liaison with ethno-cultural & immigrant community organizations; represent EISA at meetings and functions related to the program. # ~ ?( X5 @" g- V" m- \, t
8 Q+ b& P: M+ c$ S# \Key Qualifications - Degree or Diploma in social work, social sciences or related areas. > Special requirements include: 2-3 years experience in program coordination; excellent interpersonal/communication skills, cultural sensitivity; knowledge & experience in volunteer management; good knowledge of available community resources/services.

$ G% b% e0 x8 t" a/ SPLUS: demonstrated computer skills in MS Excel, Access, internet & dBase management programs; experience working with immigrant families and/or settlement services, community development or non-profit org. an asset.
