I do not think Firefox is faster than IE. There are more viruses to IE just because it's more popular and Firefox is pretty new. If FireFox occupies 80% of the market, who knows what will happen. So just choose based on your own needs.
For whatever reason, Firefox should be safer, I am not saying faster though. But spyware/adware can make your computor very slow. Check you folder:+ U1 A$ J5 s. V6 ` z' s/ X3 E

All of them are just cookies. If you do not like the activeX, in XP, you can just disable it in the IE configuration.6 v( h& H3 H) u# @# F, @( ~( ~; t
