    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region$ O" U3 y: ?' `6 S3 g9 e& k. S9 q7 S
    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group& }8 W3 E6 v* U9 `" G9 J( O
    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
- [) K9 {% S- I2 o$ l' u4 x    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations" b9 D3 a1 _" n  c
    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
) A' Z0 b; h" g. q( Y: B    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses5 \, A/ Q8 C. P
    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth. R7 }  C2 w3 L% o  y) F% u6 X
    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program4 u' U% l( }0 M% n" f/ y+ U
    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment0 `7 a) W, S0 B' J
    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports- B5 E0 t5 R& D' t
    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs, B! `( B; z/ e, B; y3 D5 U+ i5 I# C
    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly! n4 m# f' D6 L" }6 K* J) F
    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities: l6 l3 I- d9 [5 C/ k0 y" V: h
    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools

Qualifications* @" n- I' ~0 `. i1 X
5 o9 l0 j/ Z: g6 l
    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
2 o6 M. E9 O+ u8 S& X( T    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
8 W3 z; E' r, f  S- I/ o    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
4 M4 Q' F8 y* U9 `* _: G) k  a- b2 W    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs7 A9 K: }# ^8 D
    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community
+ ]/ t7 D; F; s( C2 T: q8 `    * Fundraising skills an asset5 ?# ]5 A- Q& N; @5 [# }- N% O
    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills

    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills
