Duties

* d& ^: |  g! c1 b    * Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program
    * Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities
    * Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes
! C, O! Z1 w0 N3 T4 w% A    * Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat
    * Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders
  o) [5 G, ~' E2 a7 w- ?3 [    * Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements
9 b7 {0 [& |" f" c- ?    * Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs
    * Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director
8 m6 X% _. H9 L% m- M- c    * Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning
  b* J) L7 n6 b# h: P6 n7 V    * Develops high quality promotional and educational materials
    * Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media
    * Creates and delivers community-based presentations on camp-related research and evaluation results
    * Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies

* X/ n2 K4 a/ W& |5 S* s* n/ J, T    * Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred
* C  B, E! k$ q: c, w, U9 c; `    * Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
    * Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
    * Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies
    * Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills
    * Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning
# u6 h/ h. Q4 V) V    * Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation)
    * Excellent communication (oral and written) and analytical skills
