Duties
; j8 c K1 k! c8 Q2 u5 t9 h: J; V8 e# q" R! Y' S' v% C
* Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program
: c7 [ Q( S0 W6 t * Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities
$ d; k! h5 P6 |, k- o5 m: S, H * Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes
. s7 h4 o y0 K( {3 o" n * Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat4 U8 \: E8 c% d" [2 p7 t
* Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders
7 n3 g1 _; F" ~8 ? * Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements
7 t! \1 L7 S& V) f+ V! ^$ c1 b * Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs
" u* g8 m% G6 L3 C- I * Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director+ V% h- T1 `) n- S
* Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning
' m: B* [ P0 U6 N * Develops high quality promotional and educational materials
8 F( V% S0 \) S+ z1 W * Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media) F; n5 ~& V5 @! X- S: @. Y
* Creates and delivers community-based presentations on camp-related research and evaluation results4 r6 p; i/ T# z0 ?* ^. H7 S/ J
* Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies

Qualifications
. }2 I; k. \! }# ~. v( w* K5 `) _
* Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred" w2 {$ H7 I8 O0 @9 S
* Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth5 z/ m$ Z, Y2 D& l2 }( m( b' p" Z
* Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
9 \! `/ z/ z3 y6 d. X! x! h * Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies
- j L) u( |% _. U * Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills5 h k/ D- M6 [
* Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning
2 r; [1 \; j" w1 e" | * Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation)
