Edmonton police are investigating two killings from early Sunday morning, the city's 20th and 21st homicides of the year.

One male passenger fled from the vehicle before police arrived, and reports indicate a small white car was seen fleeing the scene after the shots were fired.

Meanwhile, one male is dead and another is in police custody after an altercation between two groups in an alley early Sunday morning, according to an EPS press release.

At approximately 2:45 a.m. MT, officers spotted a vehicle being driven the wrong way on Gateway Boulevard near Whyte Avenue.% c+ c0 g: F- Q( B1 n' ~

Upon stopping the car, the officers learned that one of the passengers, a 24-year-old male, was seriously injured.6 H8 d4 g3 q# T

He was taken to hospital, where he died of his injuries.
