记得张贤亮说过男人的一半是女人.  基于他的理论,  这句话译成如下才算达到信达雅的标准:

如失去了祖裔语言, 您的老婆就会跟别人跑掉.  掌握了祖裔语言, 您就可以娶二房了.

张还真有远见, 二十多年前就认识到了学祖裔语言的重要性.  佩服!  佩服!

这句英语本来就不伦不类，前后茅盾，罗里罗嗦。后一句话可以删掉.

中文比英文先进几千年, 当然有可以翻译得很精彩了：母语是人的一半灵魂！
