, t! I+ O, ]; C) G' KPayment and collection of health care premiums owed prior to January 1, 2009 will continue under these guidelines:

1. All Albertans are responsible to pay premiums unless they qualify for premium assistance, government-sponsored income support programs, or are senior citizens.
0 J; J& z* ^2 o) d( s4 d* a! v3 q 2. Employers and benefit administrators who register and pay premiums on behalf of their employees will continue to do so.
+ k1 n. }5 ]( Z) h% @6 c# ~ 3. Alberta Health and Wellness will continue to pursue collections from those who fail to pay premiums.
, t2 \2 ^/ E3 z, M7 k3 F 4. Contributors to Alberta Blue Cross or other supplementary insurance plans that provide prescription drug, dental, and other extended coverage, will still pay those premiums, as they have not been eliminated.: H8 ?4 K! T: T, P
