A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.4 I: K3 s1 X) \# i( n9 D ~0 s$ ~
This program is designed to provide participants with the skills and
5 L/ F2 K) w) E3 ]1 ?2 s0 lknowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.5 P7 Z, R) l$ i" D
The program includes the following elements:

: }5 x: ?) l8 a) e• Standard Child Care First Aid7 Z: O+ z8 D( S; y( [9 X
• WHMIS4 K. E: u) r0 U! x" H# [
• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care
8 J' V" b1 p0 D& E8 z- ^, h$ ]• Components to improve communication skills7 Q- k6 Z! o4 ~- P: {5 l, Y2 d
• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search

Eligibility Criteria$ Z: \* |1 L* c
• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen+ a/ R v3 v& ~/ [
of Canada* L7 _0 H0 o3 d4 D4 |
• have a Social Insurance Number
+ l. ]8 {1 w' _4 t/ H8 Z( }% f0 I• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check1 ?1 _% p j2 i8 v( ^" i
• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent
( i& m8 b2 E; o5 ^. v6 @• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time( o) U" @8 m$ _9 K+ ~, V4 D
program
6 C* G E& Q2 D3 H& ^0 MParticipants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet. ]; f( Q# j5 N8 `2 a6 D
the following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:2 y, s4 O) e& A: J! S
• be unemployed or underemployed., L, B0 e& v2 f8 T2 p) |
They CANNOT quit their job to take the course
