A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.

knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.# M& {, O% X4 h9 q4 @( O" [
The program includes the following elements:1 o# m: B1 a, |
• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)% H; d/ Z* U8 ]' U" M* X7 q( v( b
• Standard Child Care First Aid
- A- W' h1 S) K. `, {0 h• WHMIS! b% ]2 r) X. H" f$ X
• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care2 R. j1 ]4 @' D6 c
• Components to improve communication skills) \; B, u: I" l7 V* |; Z
• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search

Eligibility Criteria
- N3 O4 b: ~; i1 j• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen$ G O3 U) J8 `
of Canada, ?. E! D+ W/ R# |2 w5 z. s9 n% Q
• have a Social Insurance Number) z# t2 {% X3 B% X* n: u
• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check7 r' r& q6 |6 F$ |+ t
• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent
/ e- j) U' t4 B* q$ V1 \3 `* Z0 D• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time r* v0 B" L* A1 O" t' s5 \: c0 T
program

the following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:# {/ A: X/ n3 C
• be unemployed or underemployed.
