A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.. K8 M! ]8 g$ V# u c* s4 B
This program is designed to provide participants with the skills and; w6 n- X. X1 Z# k9 [- P
knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.

+ s; g. c3 k# A3 T: z! t• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)1 M5 E/ \1 l9 l. A4 E2 a( Y$ f
• Standard Child Care First Aid
! O2 n6 B7 a8 r; G• WHMIS J0 i2 R9 p3 |6 M1 n m
• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care0 {/ _+ L+ ~ V& }+ v
• Components to improve communication skills
' Z, s$ ~) u% Z# \5 N. t7 V0 f( r3 F• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search

% N' _% w% `- ^2 @( }. M& u- MEligibility Criteria: V' N: n+ @7 y# }8 s
• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen7 I2 F" p# B) p8 Q
of Canada
/ m& v8 a# f: d2 O7 Q- D. ]' g• have a Social Insurance Number( @5 q& W" q' j7 ]9 i+ Q: i( f- ^
• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check# s" v5 i5 }7 D8 [4 h
• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent
% W1 V; L: e) K' X6 Q• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time5 w8 J4 [# v5 W. v
program

! [+ \) s+ R' @* X" X& N# tthe following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:. B/ q. Z- q& ?! ^, U" S7 b- J
• be unemployed or underemployed./ M0 S0 X2 o# ?# o; K
They CANNOT quit their job to take the course
