* Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications/ k. ?0 i( l% b5 Y
* Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis
) Z4 b$ w7 L) _4 v; x$ v * Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
: G. U' h( r% c/ E * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students
$ B A! q1 K) t' s * Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies2 L& Y7 b* E9 `7 ]
* Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs
5 ]! N% g3 `' F* w* B * Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment

1 A. i5 S" U' f+ y * Technical Diploma required; a BSc is preferred
