Duties

    * Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications
    * Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis
) Z4 b$ w7 L) _4 v; x$ v    * Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
: G. U' h( r% c/ E    * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students
$ B  A! q1 K) t' s    * Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies
    * Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs

Qualifications

1 A. i5 S" U' f+ y    * Technical Diploma required; a BSc is preferred
, H! s3 C5 T/ k: O) b    * Minimum of one year of related experience in some aspect of analytical mass spectrometry is required

you mean the pay is cheaper, but i think there are lots people can do and this kind of job is worth this price. It is not senior analysist

就是怕市道不好，UA 把價錢壓低了。
  Z" c  J5 y# E' t/ p本來 GC-MS 的， 聼說在 GM 裝焊擡推都有 us$76/hr,現在改行了。


2 t& ~" T7 }# Q% c/ `: x2 q好了。言歸正傳，ua 給的工資，往往只得市場的 6至7成。

You've never heard of Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry?
, N, v' {1 O4 ?4 RSamples were first separated into components by GC before sending to MS for identification.
- I5 C1 S1 w1 t7 V- _7 @! v5 iwage range from $42000 to $80000 /year.

ti-MS stands for mass spectrometer with thermal ionization source.
