FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization 9 E6 b5 B9 S [. N) {. F
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media ! ]; P% Z: Q* W3 F" V) N
artists from Northern Alberta.

% U3 |1 ^4 ]1 {% [& Semerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video * Z! X+ Q8 X- u6 g
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a ; h( q$ S. p& q9 e+ m' I
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
; b1 P& a% v5 L# M( D! lscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

1 c$ F. ?5 m) Z& b# D; jJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive ' j9 F* x( f& ^0 v
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by , m( j9 f# }$ S, [9 z2 {5 q, Y+ q
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. " P* J+ Z" j; f9 s

Duties: , q2 R* P, v1 n% ] @/ n$ v9 d# w9 P
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
% H& o8 o4 [: D' ~8 Y; r) S- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
& o/ e/ m' [+ `, y- Assist with equipment maintenance
' S5 I4 _2 l1 J7 c+ }. L; M- Assist with production logistics for programming events
* b" Q! M' _2 Z) R% W; {' U0 z) ]- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
0 g; Z# ^( c; L; }$ W- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
