/ b; q4 o9 [- V3 yFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
6 E. S# n$ W* \# Y3 mwhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media , f; q/ I5 X1 j
artists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
2 ]6 p5 I1 Z3 R/ O- B% iemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video % J5 [, f$ K' m5 @+ r
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
: h% m* `, J6 W3 Dresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and ' `8 t0 g ]% g' @% `" [
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
; K7 ?" Y* x$ b# RDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
& e/ @2 Z8 |0 R" D( s4 m7 gassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. 3 r5 U; Q! t4 ]+ R
* f4 W5 y" r y) Q' iDuties:
& R" e0 _' M/ G( e7 [- Assist with research on acquisition grants
% c2 E( I5 m8 r' R0 |# C, S- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
1 U$ a/ g, r5 Q" j; l% Q- Assist with equipment maintenance
! k# ~* f* K$ ~* j3 E- Assist with production logistics for programming events . t; y2 B, W& n3 H
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 8 ^6 ` o/ Y9 r1 S7 w* B, h( D
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment ) }) i+ M1 @" e' I" u
- Advance organizational and research skills
