; b2 S! O' c) bFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
! }5 e E- {: N, Swhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media 8 r8 r0 C) O' r& {; S5 K( h% r0 ^
artists from Northern Alberta.

9 [7 e) ?( H$ d9 [' Y# \. Zand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
' H$ H8 D% F; k V3 W/ c6 M8 X7 fresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
. u: ^0 z! f3 U# R1 e! M# X+ C- Jscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern $ ^4 y% d( h1 }, m

# J: b {2 b4 }* |) mJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
; j) ]9 i/ k. xDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by ! f J" l" ^; O- V
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. - N6 h2 \ [1 \" d) `
, P- J) N, u8 h) F# z* \
Duties:
! Z$ Q7 d- ^* o, Z' v- Assist with research on acquisition grants
6 D) ^5 g) T5 ?. o% g/ G, F1 E- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities 5 e) Q5 H& f: B* o1 z Q
- Assist with equipment maintenance
: d* d8 d6 x$ k D# i$ A- Assist with production logistics for programming events - {: z$ t* p" @4 Y! \: |
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff % A" T( H+ W( v# j+ U% u
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-5 U. y* V8 @5 ]

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week 5 c% Y+ R9 s: C" x2 N3 O: E
- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

& h7 c7 ^/ D* v9 E2 b- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment . o# Y& U3 }* f6 U# g) \
- Advance organizational and research skills - \$ s* l& P8 L, T8 g" n' V6 u: X# H
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD - `8 \3 `& Q! y5 l
- Strong team player abilities ! J) x1 j' _3 u' P+ ^- i. b
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
