7 V. _' b) ^: F; U& @+ kFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 1 o1 B B! O( F0 a! k
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 6 p1 ~, o8 L; B; {' g% s
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

$ v7 G8 u) l% }8 y yJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
8 R! n) P2 v- @Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
# C1 u' ~5 C4 m! x3 aassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

- w: v `, _8 ]- K! U7 j# \2 @Duties: , R1 L1 b$ D6 R0 J
- Assist with research on acquisition grants $ H1 P5 b4 T2 }3 S$ N+ N
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
$ ~4 P; v; S, A- u1 [- Assist with equipment maintenance
1 f& {; c" \2 G& R Y# X2 T- Assist with production logistics for programming events 3 k6 |! o# `, @4 N" e& A* k/ ]
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
6 z) {" `8 b; t l) A- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 4 {$ l7 ?9 {7 M) J' N- z
- Provide vacation relief

Program (STEP)

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- S+ @0 p5 \. b6 O- i4 Q0 @# H+ ^- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts + e( y+ }* W* G) h3 u$ w, b: L- O" w
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
5 E* i6 O4 J% G1 ~2 l- Advance organizational and research skills % X4 \' a8 ?% J* Q3 q
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
. U* Q7 C2 m Z9 Y4 a$ x, w- Strong team player abilities
- t; W, D5 \! d* ?2 y- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
