FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
9 ~/ K9 u: O" S1 y+ vsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

% G7 y% @( o/ k6 W7 E' hFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
% i3 |' z# P0 Z9 w" ~. ?emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
* p# c) U" k6 C$ @6 ?: z7 Aresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
( b4 j7 H6 z6 W" kscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

- Z/ A6 o4 k% v& U- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program

secondary training, university preferred

- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
