OTTAWA (AFP) — The number of people infected with swine flu in Canada rose to eight Tuesday, after health officials confirmed two cases in the western province of Alberta.+ B J4 H9 p- K2 C% M% j
" g- ]/ p* x( I% R"Two cases of human swine influenza have been confirmed in Alberta -- one in Calgary and the other in northern Alberta," said Dr Andre Corriveau, Alberta's chief medical officer for health matters, in a statement.

# N$ n) z. L4 F* [+ f4 l"Both individuals are male and have experienced a mild form of human swine flu," Corriveau said, adding that one of the patients already had fully recovered, while the other was nearly better.) i6 P! o" j# L

"These cases show that our monitoring and surveillance system is working as it should," he said, calling both bouts of the potentially deadly illness "mild."
