f5 \0 A) J0 }% k( g8 YBig Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff. 7 R' u9 [6 `$ i2 ^

8 f* }6 r( c( R6 d! ~9 |) FKey Responsibilities Include
8 F* t, I& l4 i0 N" _; WActivity Planning and Daily Activity' ]3 `( d' W0 K( |2 U% G- O% G
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.* S% u$ b# t9 c; q8 D
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
1 n5 p1 s& x, y4 t y• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, t( k# ^3 I+ K& ?
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
3 }- j9 n0 [4 V0 h% x) r4 N* q• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.. z0 A2 t4 _: p, U( @2 n5 z* b3 j% G" P5 p
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.$ }! B; F1 @. X2 _, L8 y4 H

The successful candidate will have:" B+ G7 c0 i& \" y
• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting1 e) t5 h+ a" h; H3 n
• Experience with children
s: w' v/ w2 ?" g7 T• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth . E! M2 D/ U3 I) q' j
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
) ]9 H, `. a+ z• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented., m( a. C7 y) g
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
" R- b7 F2 F$ G* _# l2 f• A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check & F, U! E2 x& F7 T2 L/ j. @
• A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
