5 c6 Q8 O' i5 H6 M' m  R2 P0 a6 \Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families.  Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

(10 week @ 35 hours a week contract. Must be returning to school)

Key Responsibilities Include
Activity Planning and Daily Activity
•        Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their  resilience, relationship building and leadership.
•        Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
# J5 q* m6 `3 S+ Z  |•        Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer  and volleyball,
•        Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
•        Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
5 a, c6 u0 D# L  |! P5 A0 Z•        Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

& u7 W0 l" Q; C2 Y& EThe successful candidate will have:
0 W' C& ]6 X9 E& X" ^4 G8 B0 o•        The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
•        Experience with children
$ y! R5 }; i! I( I0 j# N4 e•        Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
•        Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
, g' r& Q& A6 ~% \) I! `4 Q•        Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
•        Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
•        A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check  
•        A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
