Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

(8 week contract @ 35 hours a week): T6 Z# x6 O3 A) h

Key Responsibilities Include: H# C" o; H, P+ j1 G& Y$ R
Activity Planning and Daily Activity. x; { W+ L- t% ]' u
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
U" }5 @+ C( m# S* f5 d• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
0 C1 z% L. {: x" r1 N; @6 m; }• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, % T7 B V. A% K1 q) f9 Y7 H& V6 ?
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.$ a, B2 e3 L# A' m! c, \
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.& I$ P' V( p0 C0 n4 C: E
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting' A5 s% Y7 {9 l9 Y5 \9 M
• Experience with children" G' s _4 X2 x& G7 ]. H
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth ) K! X- m, b) V1 B( ?/ s2 Z
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
: K- {4 N% F; S9 c, s s# ?• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
, I( x& V9 d( t2 `• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
