- P0 }( }8 w- j# SIntegrated Employability Skills Training gives immigrants the essential
skills needed for success in the Alberta workplace. This 5-month funded
: q8 r; }/ d# Q* Iprogram combines classroom-based training with work site visits and work
experience placements in high-demand semi-skilled occupations, such as
warehousing, customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, food
7 }& e  M/ f  yservices and others.

& d8 U5 F8 K% z& iCandidate Profile:
7 B, a( D4 {* K2 y
Candidates for this funded program must be landed immigrants, Canadian
- A: `; K0 N1 z1 u( z. ncitizens or refugees who are eligible to work in Canada and who have:
*        English communication skills in the 4 - 6 range on CLB
" [+ P' |0 c' E4 |% d*        Basic literacy and numeracy skills and some secondary or post-
secondary education
0 ]( `& F4 t2 z& d; q*        A genuine interest in finding permanent employment in a high-demand
# }  v' V* M, e0 L" Poccupation
1 Z. l7 F$ I+ v6 U# F*        Availability to study fulltime for 5 months and then be employed
! l7 H! p0 j: [. v*        Willingness to commit to a program and future job
* C2 y! p. P. w  h7 q% J) R*        Resided in Alberta for the past 3 months

                        *        4 months classroom-based instruction and
6 P) ~* p0 X3 r! W1 O; ~7 N2 ~2 {field trips
+ X4 ~  n0 S" P/ z3 v        *        Improve your English while learning about a variety of
high-demand occupations
        *        Increase computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Internet, etc.)
        *        Write a winning resume and improve interview skills
        *        Get First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certificates
        *        Take advantage of one-on-one employment counseling
                        *        1 month work-experience placement

Funding:

Students may be eligible for tuition and living expenses from Student
Finance.
