Program Overview:
( L. E$ X' h5 X" O& _2 r
Integrated Employability Skills Training gives immigrants the essential
( M8 O7 I7 O: o( X3 o% m8 gskills needed for success in the Alberta workplace. This 5-month funded
program combines classroom-based training with work site visits and work
experience placements in high-demand semi-skilled occupations, such as
warehousing, customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, food

6 H+ Y9 y" f4 p0 e4 MCandidates for this funded program must be landed immigrants, Canadian
citizens or refugees who are eligible to work in Canada and who have:
% L, f4 Z5 |$ ?! `*        English communication skills in the 4 - 6 range on CLB
$ O8 ?& Q5 a& s0 f. S6 t- Q5 k1 _*        Basic literacy and numeracy skills and some secondary or post-
. m( L# m, b7 K7 I: q0 A' i7 Zsecondary education
. s9 T# h6 w+ V% [% Q: ]' r9 I*        A genuine interest in finding permanent employment in a high-demand
! n( @2 q( N1 ]3 r. ~occupation
4 J" v; ]7 U! M- `5 q* \! E*        Availability to study fulltime for 5 months and then be employed
6 J* {& V' |( U*        Willingness to commit to a program and future job
*        Resided in Alberta for the past 3 months

        *        Improve your English while learning about a variety of
5 a$ V5 m' T. l2 v2 P& i# xhigh-demand occupations
$ j. [+ U, h0 j4 ~1 Q9 s& v        *        Increase computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
- K/ W5 b7 t- H; V8 E: O0 ]Internet, etc.)
6 f  d% N9 d3 L4 X% Y        *        Write a winning resume and improve interview skills
8 ]; M, z8 T+ [# F' f2 ^        *        Get First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certificates
        *        Take advantage of one-on-one employment counseling
