0 P, V$ n& {+ j/ L$ MIntegrated Employability Skills Training gives immigrants the essential
  ~( r, q, I2 l' U& z$ U8 p8 Q1 Lskills needed for success in the Alberta workplace. This 5-month funded
program combines classroom-based training with work site visits and work
- a1 p0 @6 ]6 k8 Nexperience placements in high-demand semi-skilled occupations, such as
# l8 C' ~- l( N  {0 _2 J  k9 dwarehousing, customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, food
9 p5 W0 S2 q" n4 I7 x2 Jservices and others.

+ c9 Z$ R" F" F4 Z: x) mCandidate Profile:

" v  g) p7 S1 R" gCandidates for this funded program must be landed immigrants, Canadian
" W+ g" q6 ~6 r$ V8 H8 Q6 K! U2 ccitizens or refugees who are eligible to work in Canada and who have:
*        English communication skills in the 4 - 6 range on CLB
/ F9 \, @1 l& c& L. N*        Basic literacy and numeracy skills and some secondary or post-
$ N# k* \: n% I, n6 `$ X% c) x. ysecondary education
*        A genuine interest in finding permanent employment in a high-demand
2 L3 P4 F7 F* t) ~+ Y" aoccupation
*        Availability to study fulltime for 5 months and then be employed
*        Willingness to commit to a program and future job
*        Resided in Alberta for the past 3 months

Program Description:

                        *        4 months classroom-based instruction and
field trips
  t- Y2 e0 T" L, X1 u        *        Improve your English while learning about a variety of
" W: m: G# Y6 S+ d  Q, ohigh-demand occupations
        *        Increase computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Internet, etc.)
        *        Write a winning resume and improve interview skills
" [& A  d5 A4 F0 D$ q( G        *        Get First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certificates
% U' @% L+ R" D- v5 H$ X& D1 K        *        Take advantage of one-on-one employment counseling
                        *        1 month work-experience placement

        *        September 12, 2005 to January 31, 2006
        *        Monday to Friday
        *        9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (tentative)
