Duties: Special Events
2 w w& T! v) |" i8 J) n7 NPlan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
' B. N1 [' F: @% S9 M· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
- V- |1 s7 Y# [$ s· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
8 P( A' d2 z' s# X" cwith decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
+ A2 W$ I; s, r( R* j/ H* \" Eadvertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure
: y; O/ a7 E9 X- @* c& {3 Zset-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. 8 x2 m$ l4 B# Y3 Q0 T
· Attend and manage Special Events

Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
, h( @' J9 e. b7 x, J2 A8 W· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions 8 f; p6 I3 v2 R/ T6 }( j
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
, k! m) c5 r4 @1 S· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers ! B- w5 K1 z+ ^+ i" C7 h. a( F8 r
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers
- X* w" m" f7 Y3 @$ h; R· Complete program administration, statistics and records 1 b- @: P9 C9 E7 r5 z8 P. d

Qualifications:
0 {) B2 i; @) _) |" K3 i· Completion of 12th
: B9 B( c: v4 X/ v4 [ Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
8 @9 M/ }( {' ?3 Q* p5 @+ YAdministration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
4 U1 e3 A, A' \· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct 7 Q# I) D4 _/ ]5 ~
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
/ u' n# g6 `. b# j2 c4 g5 `, o0 O· Experience working with and managing volunteers
( y+ d; u/ `, Q' U$ ^& X, m· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
& w! e9 X# r/ H0 \: o; p· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events * ?0 J$ ^1 x0 J! @* h5 x2 o
· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work 6 @8 S6 y8 r7 i, k; ^% p
- M, R2 {% g5 |7 BWages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications
