Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special 9 u U: J2 w- g
Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to:

Duties: Special Events
- d% J. l# S2 h& J! C2 O }Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events: : J# }6 \3 \. ^/ y
· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee % { G& c3 F6 c
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist : R+ Z8 E+ S7 M& Y- I/ U
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the - F9 P+ Z7 X1 g' h6 m; {2 [9 F/ J
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure & f" _6 X! V& l0 q- D$ R
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. 1 S: ~0 \ S: ?
· Attend and manage Special Events

Duties: Volunteer Coordination 8 D. M9 U7 y9 s C q% o6 O: c
Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
/ n, n# I1 t3 n) S1 D· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions Q4 Z* C6 e2 ]5 K
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers ! f1 d1 D7 w; E4 B$ M7 K
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
! G1 P0 ^8 B$ |, ]# `9 ^. @· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers : u& T4 P+ Y; A1 K
· Complete program administration, statistics and records & J% Z5 x' k1 u# N1 ?: C# o

Qualifications: # n) f8 }# n ^! `4 x# p. m
· Completion of 12th
- O( U( [7 p8 y: e$ f3 L) x Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
0 Q" \9 q% j8 T7 V: a5 c0 DAdministration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. $ l+ }5 `/ c C# P( [( Q
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
2 l8 E8 ]# R$ i8 P* W# l6 i+ oexperience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
* D8 Q* |4 q! R8 b# w# o· Experience working with and managing volunteers / `7 T6 c# h( z b4 p4 R. |- N5 W
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
( x! p, Z7 ~ ]0 J· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events

· Security Clearance

Wages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications
