THE EDMONTON REGION IMMIGRANT COUNCIL WOULD LIKE TO INVITE YOU TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 24/4 MENTORSHIP PILOT PROGRAM:8 @ Y. D [) o& {% C1 h
24 HOURS OVER 4 MONTHS& \0 m ^3 W$ B) q$ a/ Q
This fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.
2 X# W* N6 x4 i: K* P0 GEligibility Criteria+ n" o: A" m' p6 D& \
All potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:
- N7 D5 N! f& r0 X0 Y% q•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less! u" l$ k& I8 L% ]4 ], c: V
•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education
( }6 d3 c/ _3 T4 r% L•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English
3 I& h9 P4 _ b% C•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada
( Q- Q9 g: V0 K6 c+ m( i. X8 U•No prior Canadian work experience in their field' b6 A& q0 u5 s& h" K4 f
•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less, N) Z7 y) }8 H8 _) b
•Be eligible to work in Canada2 `; S+ f0 b0 H# P
•Have a job ready resume and have completed a job search workshop* y9 [" ?: H8 z( @' k6 r1 q' Q$ H
•Lack access to professional networks2 d* i- F+ c, O7 j3 a) M+ B
•Be motivated to participate and be open to learning

The maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months. This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week.
