Position: Project Coordinator, Smart Choices.
Terms: Full-time (35 hours per week).
Compensation: Based on experience & qualifications.
Closing Date: Open until a suitable candidate is found.


Responsibilities:
" k4 x: }# f$ r/ |! c* ~1 z# w-        Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth
-        Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling
-        Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
-        Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs
-        Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health

Key Qualifications:
' }( X& g2 \7 {5 o1 x7 b-        Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences
-        At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
-        Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others
- \9 ~9 T3 ^  w+ K+ I, }1 G-        Experience doing program development
-        Strong organizational and coordination skills
, J4 P- i: s, C* E- W% ?3 S4 r-        Self-directed and able to take initiative
0 \. E% M1 L' l" E-        Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset
-        Vehicle and valid drivers’ license

) K9 b$ d/ P3 ]" @-        Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation
/ s. U* V: j8 G) d-        Knowledge of and experience working with immigrant and refugee communities
7 W3 E* v, R0 Y-        An understanding of the relationship between addictions and mental health
-        Skills in marketing & promotions
-        Some evening and weekend work may be required

Other: The successful candidate will be required to undergo a police security check and child welfare check at their own expense.
