Responsibilities
Assists in the planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents of the Extended Care Centre in collaboration with the Activation Manager.
Works co-operatively with the Activation Manager, facility volunteers, families and other staff members.
8 `. C" `) b. CMaintains appropriate resident and department records including assessments, evaluations of planned programs detailing anticipated individual participation.
1 _# b' y4 g+ G% HMaintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers and staff of other departments.
1 i: Z9 s8 W! @! R( AIs knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights/Governing Principles and endeavors to promote it.
Participates in team conferences to plan, develop and assess individual resident care plans.
Qualifications
Must have a community college recreation certificate or diploma or equivalent, as approved by the Activation Manager. Experience working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting.
1 U( X- b4 E8 x- d7 hMust be able to communicate in written and verbal form and maintain an acceptable standard of behaviour and appearance.
/ B7 N$ A1 ^1 F5 Z+ x5 m& Q! r& `7 ^Computer skills an asset.
! e; O8 B! T: n; ~9 [8 c6 G/ JAn energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and who possess excellent problem solving, planning and creative abilities.
Proficiency in a second language is an asset.
