Assists in the planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents of the Extended Care Centre in collaboration with the Activation Manager.
, `' N2 g( h) k; CWorks co-operatively with the Activation Manager, facility volunteers, families and other staff members.
6 X0 B) E% V( w( w" uMaintains appropriate resident and department records including assessments, evaluations of planned programs detailing anticipated individual participation.
, q% s$ m8 k3 R* ~# AMaintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers and staff of other departments.
Is knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights/Governing Principles and endeavors to promote it.
" J) }. g0 E5 n# b# \+ _Participates in team conferences to plan, develop and assess individual resident care plans.
0 g5 L6 i7 K# T, d+ v, D! f$ BQualifications
Must have a community college recreation certificate or diploma or equivalent, as approved by the Activation Manager. Experience working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting.
Must be able to communicate in written and verbal form and maintain an acceptable standard of behaviour and appearance.
: x0 x2 T1 O! L* k( C5 d& cComputer skills an asset.
An energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and who possess excellent problem solving, planning and creative abilities.
  S  q5 X8 ~8 W4 l+ D9 @) MProficiency in a second language is an asset.
