execution of the YWCA Strategy

6 o* ~0 @9 o4 T• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 8 D6 k7 E: [+ A, l6 @
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
( q3 B; H9 ~/ C! vthe Board of Directors;
$ u$ x% h; f+ e0 `7 s• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
& M) Z. K9 s" c9 n7 y8 Yincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to ; P2 c; W/ S, c5 F4 K: i
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
, }1 D+ `5 q/ Z9 Q# o* _• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and - x* T2 Q/ q' i0 b& p
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

: u Y/ {9 K u( y2 W• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
& l. ?# S% Y. n6 {# ^: G• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
7 J# L* W- G# V! [5 G7 M- Mthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
- E% Z( x! r' \• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 7 h! G6 @. _4 E' S2 v9 k
changing needs of the organization and community;
" g# E, U9 F& K! P* T: M/ q1 U• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; " A' f$ e8 Y0 O. `
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective ) D( V1 A, ?3 j4 W4 C
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
3 O, h$ U- g( N/ k* W# A• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 4 }' k/ J9 T, m7 e8 M- O8 u- K/ b
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to , W r% A: }$ h9 B3 n% H
effectively and positively represent the association; ! k0 k: l/ n8 q8 D
2 x- v, _5 \8 c5 S i r• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
4 ?9 v3 {$ ^( _2 `0 M$ fthe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
! B& P1 a- F& M• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal % F- h6 g8 i* h& g2 f# l: a, P. |
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
0 {* v" E0 F7 z' wthe forthcoming year; & m$ B. {$ e3 V& B5 @' K& |; W& B
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
. R8 u( O- n6 H1 u. spractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of ; y k# ?' X+ E6 K; ^. ~
YWCA Canada; and

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; . \; I* [$ l+ @2 x2 D
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation ' {( \& N: L2 S" Y/ X5 o
abilities;
7 [/ l4 B. T# |9 u8 | D# Y* m- r) S• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 2 `: W1 u( x6 O6 i
Networking and Fundraising;

and financial statements; and
