execution of the YWCA Strategy

- Y0 @. H7 q2 D• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of ; H' s$ @6 n" N: f" p* c2 A
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
. a0 G+ R4 `- l% Vthe Board of Directors; 4 a# f; Z8 v1 q$ X% ^+ t
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations + V! I' q5 F5 ^( T
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
- y/ v( \0 W( v* U4 n& w. Zenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; ! \ i/ S6 }' Q2 N! [+ u) t1 T( p4 S& T
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and ( z/ J, T( L* M$ t& l* q" M- z
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
$ \1 u8 ]% M1 t7 Q0 b8 \+ Lthe board;
+ p$ u5 R+ E0 N6 k6 ?( y• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
( d5 V5 r/ k1 l# X2 X0 j% i• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion ; Y8 U4 H3 o# _: @# J# x3 o& L
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
: Y4 ?8 h j% P" a9 I% p' |! I• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 7 l0 }0 _3 W5 W7 C6 M# m
changing needs of the organization and community;
?, d% N/ T3 b• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
. }% O/ q, _& m o | L" m• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 6 b# d0 B. l5 @% }4 o
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
% _, H' Q7 T! U! f! T. S• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; ) K1 x. s+ L! @# v
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to 8 E2 j: q3 r" z4 y7 U
effectively and positively represent the association;
! E* j+ a q1 s/ C: W0 E/ x$ u1 i) G
• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
: V5 y) j; g4 Ethe implementation of systems to manage these risks; ( Q: |* h# W4 s* t l0 @& x
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
) D- Z- ^: S9 M9 fperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 4 N. I4 K7 D r
the forthcoming year; $ l. a. N9 f! n) N. c- R
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
- s! f, ~. R" t+ Gpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of
2 l; c. B9 H d. yYWCA Canada; and
( x3 p, T3 ~% Q• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. . S) V E f- F9 [3 P1 Q

% v" \! ]) t9 ~+ M" S* A• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; . p: P8 @8 S( ~6 \% ^8 V0 F. R
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation / g# o- B. S- l% z7 `

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 6 `$ A5 j4 @6 P. F3 {1 g
Networking and Fundraising; 1 `' B. {2 s) V1 G
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
