The 55 km (33 mi) Dinosaur Trail loop takes you west of Drumheller on the north side of the river off Hwy 9 into Midland Provincial Park and the Valley of the Dinosaurs. You'll cross the river valley on a cable ferry and return to town on the south side of the Red Deer River.

P0 SROYAL TYRRELL MUSEUM-Named after Joseph Tyrrell who discovered the bones of carnivorous Albertosaurus in 1884, this superb museum contains a wealth of information about our 4.6-billion-year-old planet. The highlight is the display of some of the world's best fossils, plus a prehistoric garden, interactive exhibits and computer simulations. Six km (3.6 mi) from downtown Drumheller along the North Dinosaur Trail. Open year round. ( V5 d8 U6 F; g5 k, l6 ?0 CHORSETHIEF CANYON-17.6 km (10.5 miles) west of the Royal Tyrrell Museum, the canyon offers a spectacular view of the badlands valley and its multi-layered walls. Paths lead to petrified oyster beds. The area with its many folds and bends proved an ideal place for thieves to hide horses in the early 1900s." e6 b; t" s% q2 x1 n4 Q

BLERIOT FERRY-Established in 1913, it uses cables and pulleys to transport vehicles across the Red Deer River. The ferry is one of the oldest of its kind operating in Alberta and the only remaining ferry of 13 that once crossed the Red Deer." _8 e: D+ [/ S0 `0 I
