张振农获埃德蒙顿移民成就奖 (2010-05-14)

共有来自18个国家的25个个人和团体获得全市移民成就最高荣誉的提名。其中，中国移民张振农，一举摘取RISE文化大奖。过去20年来，作为音乐人和教育工作者, 他一直致力于推动加中音乐文化交流，并打造了10余场爱城年度春节音乐盛典和多场大型慈善文艺演出。

他们两个都是优秀的中国移民。咱们以后争取多一个奖不就得了。

据悉，这个奖是一个非中国裔加拿大人提名的，列举了Art Zhang 来加拿大20年来为为他所热爱的文化事业所作的工作。

I truely believe Lao Yang and Zhang Laoshi both are extraordinarily outstanding and I sincerely wish both of them have the opportunity of granting the RICE Award, even though I have not met Lao Yang yet.

However, it is pretty significant for our Chinese communities to extend our cultures to the mainstream. Along with the rapid growing economy and the important international roles of our home country, Chinese people and communities in overseas are being recognized more and more. I always ask myself - what have I done in terms of making our cultures and our people more reasonably valued and making our voices heard? Then go back to the topic, I would like to state that I do have a lot of respect for both Lao Yang and Zhang Laoshi.
